However, if the rain is heavy enough to cause puddling or running water that might move the product, we would recommend a re-application in accordance with the directions. **Q: How effective has this product been for those with skunks? I have one digging for grubs at the base of a tree.** A: To get rid of grubs I put down Milky Spore granules as soon as the ground reaches a temp of 70degs which is when they come to the surface to feed and 3mo apart for 2 years in a row. The next time you apply it is in 20 YEARS...yes 20 years. It's a non toxic bacteria that targets grubs. Once ingested they explode which then release the bacteria and it goes on and on. Grub X or any other toxic grub killer only last 3 months at best. Once Milky Spore has taken hold you shouldn't have any other critter looking for grubs again in your yard. The ground temp is very important. I learned something new, I set out a japanese beetle trap and check everyday without skipping, as soon as I see one in the trap I take it down and throw away...to not attack them to my yard...thats when I know to put down the Milky Spore. It's all in the timing. **Q: Do you think this stuff would work for keeping muskrats from burrowing under my deck?** A: The red fox is a predator of a muskrat, so the product should be effective, although it is not a pest animal that we have tested the product against. However, bear in mind -- and this generally applies to any pest animal -- in our experience animals often choose to burrow under decks or other covered and hard-to-reach areas for protection when nesting and giving birth/raising newborns. In a situation where a mother muskrat (or raccoon, rabbit, etc.) is protecting her young, it can be incredibly difficult to remove the pest animals using repellents alone. This is typically a situation where we'd recommend calling in a professional who can trap and remove the animal. Once the nest has been removed, the product can be applied to help prevent a return visit by the pest family. **Q: Can this product be used to help in repelling foxes?** A: I doubt it. Even so, I still have trouble keeping our bunnies at bay. Even on the first couple of days after I apply it, I regularly see bunnies munching inches away from the application.
