Kinex 4026-02-010 Solid Machinist Square 4 x 2-3/4 Inches (100 x 70 mm) DIN 875/0 (Square w/in 7 microns or 0.0002 Inches)

Needed a small square for my shop. Didn't want to pay the price of a Starrett. The Kinex is very nice and appears to be accurate. Only negative is the deburring on some of the corners was a little aggressive (rounded over a little).

I bought this square for use in woodworking. It seems to be a good fit for my needs. I checked it against a straight edge on a piece of glass using the two line trick. The tool seems to well within square for use in hobby woodworking. I don't have the means to verify if it is within the spec listed on the tool. The tool does fall short in its packaging. The square comes in a small box with foam insert but there is a gap above the foam. So my square arrived bouncing around inside the small cardboard box. In rough shipping this could lead to damage. Another flaw is that one of the corners on the long edge of the tool seems to be ground off. I don't think its intentional and luckily it doesn't interfere with my use but it would be a big issue if you want to do any real precision work. Overall, I would say you get a little bit more than what you pay for with this square.

This tool has one job. To be precise. It fails at this. Basically useless.

I was trying to find a reference to verify my try squares. Even expensive products ($150-200) often do not disclose the precision class. I was happy to find Kinex products, but initially was skeptical since there were not many reviews on those. I bough two- the Machinist Knife Edge and the Solid Machinist Square. When I checked one against the other, it was exact match. I draw a square with them and all angles matched. Extremely happy. I could not find anything close to this precision even from expensive brands, especially for this price.

I needed a very accurate square for woodworking. This Kinex is very accurate and small enough to carry around in pocket. The only caveat is it was a little scratched, although it was delivered in a nice box.

Using this to both gauge my large squares and directly on smaller pieces as a try square. Good weight and size.

Smaller than what I expected. Still good tool.
