surprisingly this works great.
Out here in the West Texas Oilfields the wind can get up to 50 MPH and that stirs up a lot of sand, surprisingly this works great.

Great Multi Use Lightweight Mask
I really like it's versatility. Worn as a full balaclava or simply a breathable lower face mask. With a few layers of sewn in cloth from ear to ear, it also makes a great washable dust protection mask and with extra layers, serves well as a comfortable mask to help prevent virus or other contagions. Purchased several of these for the family and modified them with the extra layers. With all the Covid-19 business going on, it's nice to have a comfortable and washable mask.

great on safari
ok. it is not the best look, but it kept my face warm on the chilly morning (photo) safari drives in open vehicles. It went from full head cover to covering ears/neck to just neck to wrist band on a single drive where scarfs seemed to be hard to keep from flying away. It is was the perfect weight - light enough to not make me sweat, but warm enough to keep me from wind/rain.

Overall ok
The material is great only reason I gave it 4 stars cuz it is tight on my head. Maybe I have a big head but they should consider making a bigger size or some stretch material. Overall I like it and still use it when I need to.

Not good for under motorcycle helmet
THis is comfortable when worn on its own, but under a motorcycle helmet it isn't good. It has a thick seam that goes across my ears that gets pushed by the helmet. After 15 minutes or so it becomes very painful. It's a shame, it is nice and comfortable otherwise.

It's already starting to snag
I got this for my son and it does what it is meant to, a little hot to wear outside of winter maybe, but the main thing is it is already starting to snag and run in the knit, so it will have to be replaced often.

Light and comfortable
I have several of these and use them as a sort of "head base-layer" for mountain-biking. They are light but they offer limited protection from the cold. When riding 10+ degrees below the freezing-point, just add a thermal head warmer.

Use for mosquito protection
I wear this at night during summer to protect from mosquitoes. It is light enough to wear even in the 80's at night. It adds heat but does protect from bugs. I would say in winter it will keep you warmer although not as much as wool ski mask.
