Foxy-Mate 120-T Topless Crab Trap

I have many traps different sizes and shapes this is the only open top I use and is one of my favorite traps. the wire net is sturdy. and has held up to coastal waters for multi uses. it seems so simple its almost ridicules & it works Great, I love that its small/ light weight, But large enough to hold at least 3 crabs-- at least I have caught 3 crabs in this trap at one time!. I have changed the harness strings to .Promar 4 Arm Trap Harness I do this this for all my traps (NO Tangles). Anyhow, with this trap I have caught crabs EACH time I have used it and Never lost a crab to a fall out..Downside- is since its a stand up it doesn't lie flat to store. I am ok with that since the trap is a good catching trap for crabs- So I have excused the fact it doesn't lie flat...

Very well-built and sturdy no assembly required.

It's bigger than I thought but overly so. Went crabbing once and it did catch some crabs, keeping them inside while we pull it up. So I guess it works!

IT WORKED!!! I bought 3 of these and 3 Promar NE-104 crab trap harness and 3-50ft ropes. For a first timer, I caught 3 crabs at the most maybe 4 once, but I typically caught an average of 1-2 crabs at a time. You don't even need to wait 5 minute but it's recommend on shallow water by the dock. We went to cherrystone campground VA :) Also, the bait trap which is basically just a spring attached in the middle can easily come off so just be ready to get something else to tie your baits in. By the way, we used chicken necks for baits and it worked!! So this tap isn't bad I really recommend this

I've got numerous different types of box traps I use for crabbing and for some reason these traps seem to catch more crabs than the enclosed 2 door type I normally used. I fished 5 traps last year on my trip to the beach and this one trap alone probably caught 75% of my crabs. I'm assuming it's because it opens completely and has an open top. For this reason I recently ordered another one for my upcoming trip this summer. Trap seems to be well built. Like anything used in saltwater always rinse with fresh water before storing to prolong life.

Product has very sharp edges. The rings that hold the door on opened very easy when the traps got stuck and required a tug. Similar in price to the Cabelas version, but theirs is built much better and has vinyl covering. The string holding the door upon delivery was super thin, swapped that out.

The trap works great, save your money and do not buy the rope harness A trap like this works better with a wire harness.
