Beginner Guide & questions from my newbie perspective
We are new to smart plugs, wifi devices and home automation. So sharing some basic info I didn't' know before buying a few items and setting up our "automated home" within the last few months.First off! These are pretty cool! Can be used with or without an Echo/Alexa/Google Home. If you don't have one of smart home devices listed, these plugs still work to automate your lights etc through their app you download onto your smartphone. Your phone will be used as a remote control. You are also able to set up a timer within the app. You do not have to be home to turn on/off your appliances plugged into these smart plugs utilizing their app. Which is great when you are traveling or on your way home to turn on lights before getting out of your vehicle. If you want "voice control" of the devices plugged into these smart plugs you must have Echo/Alexa/Google Home.Set up the plugs through their app first. Then enable it as a "skill" within, in our case, Echo device app, to activate voice control feature. With this set up, you can only turn on/off your devices that are plugged into it.You are able to control 4 separate devices and/or two pair. For example we have 2 bedside lamps. Plugged them into one of these wifi smart plugs. We are able to tell it to turn on "both" lamps. Or one or the other by giving them names within the smart plug app. "Turn on both lamps". "Turn on moms lamp". or "Turn on dads lamp" Easy peasy and can name them anything you desire. The timer feature doesn't work via voice control. You have to go into the app to set up timers. Not a huge deal breaker. Since the only time we have wanted or needed the timer feature has been for lights when we are not home. So too far away to use "voice control" anyway. We do not have a coffee maker to test on. But could see how a timer to turn on the coffee maker when in bed could be a benefit. You could set up an automatic timer, to turn it on at a certain time each morning. OR... if connected to your Echo type device... tell it "Echo, turn on coffee maker" .... all while you are lying in bed! So by the time you get up and pee.... your coffee is made, fresh and hot! Better than a spouse ;pThe main con for me was I can't operate these plugs via my iPad. And that is our long term goal. 1. To automate our home via voice control (currently we are using several Echo throughout our home for this. Paired with these smart wifi plugs and a few smart wifi bulbs.2. To automate our home via our iPad for when we are not home. "Can" use our phone, but goal is everything on our iPad because it's larger and easier to read.We tested the plug on our fan. It will send power to the fan when we say "Echo, turn on fan". But with out fan, it's not a simple on/off. We have one of the tall skinny fans. You have to push a button for the mode (speed) to begin operation. So these plugs didn't work. Sending power to the fan, did not get it to start blowing air.Set up was pretty straight forward. Simple directions here on the product order page, instruction manual or via the app, once it's downloaded on your phone.Automation isn't "perfect" yet, but technology is getting close, affordable and very convenient. We are happy with this purchase. Mostly because they double my outlet space and makes them all "smart plugs" to operate remotely and via voice (with Echo).

These plugs are great. Once the app
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. These plugs are great. Once the app. is downloaded it's a snap to set up. No lag time between phone and plug. (In video, I had a hard time finding the button. Operater error)Can be operated as one or individual. And still have access to the other outlet. It would be nice to have seen a surge protector reset switch on these, but maybe next time around.Update 8/11/18One of the plugs is completely dead after 2 months.I had 2 8' led shop lights plugged in.Don't know why it stopped working, I know it wasn't draw to many amps.Should of lasted me longer than 2 months. Will have to search else where for a replacement.

Doubles my Receptacles ... but Different Models being Shipped/Reviewed?
I have a very old house. The wiring is BX 12 gauge 20A. So, the outlets have plenty of power, but there are few of them. Some of my Smart Plugs are so big, they cover both receptacles (turning 2 into 1). These are so compact, I can use two (turning 2 into 4). They connected real easily, and I like the power features on the Smart Life app. For the price, they are great!Took a star away because the antenna seems weak. The SmartThing plug I had in the outlet before this, never lost signal. This failed a couple hours in. I moved my router and it has not failed again, but when I use the app to 'Check The Network', it is 50/50 on being a good connection or not. Also, it does not mesh (like Z-Wave or Zigbee [which could be the reason the SmartThings plug had a better signal]).Finally, I hate when I take the time to read Reviews, order something, and I get a different model number. When I ordered this, the model was supposed to be the WP6. Based on others pics, they are reviewing the WP2. I received the ABS-CZ004 (see pic)?!?!

Bring on the value!
It annoyed me how long it took but FINALLY we have cheaper smart home switches and plugs available! These plugs have performed wonderfully for me so far. Mind you, I have a $250 wireless dual band router and have assigned them static IP addresses. Remember, your WiFi is only as good as your WiFi router. You should never cheap out there. No issues with them disconnecting from my WiFi or failing on a single command. They can even be made to work with Samsung SmartThings if you know how to make simulated switches in the SmartThings IDE and create IFTTT applets. Really happy with these plugs and glad I can finally start making my home smarter on a budget :-)

I have several smart devices and have never had a problem connecting until ...
I was excited about this item, but when it wouldn't connect and their tech support was unresponsive, I had no option but to return it. I'll be buying a different brand. I have several smart devices and have never had a problem connecting until now, so it's not like I'm a novice. These look nice, and I like the double sockets, but if they're not going to work, and especially if the company won't respond to questions on their so-called Support page, then I don't need them.

Daily use
After a few months of use the sockets started to- Disconnect and i had to connect to it again. (Wasnt because of my wifi)- I dont know if some of the one i had were a factory defects but when one of them broke (after 2 months) and i tried the third one and it didnt work at all.- I use this socket to turn on and off my lights and my lamp light so it was either overused or they just dont last very long.Good thing about it though is that it was easy for me to set up.

Well worth the money
I have purchased 10 of these now and they work great, I can control them with my tablet, phone, or Alexa. From home or away, the app is easy to setup and use, took less then 5 minutes. The app is very easy to use and control my lights , fans, coffee maker. I would of given them 4.5 stars but can’t here, and i don’t give 5 unless it’s really exceptional, and these so far are close.
