The set was delivered in an adorable recycled paper gift bag, tied with a green ribbon making it an ideal gift to send someone. Or even if buying for yourself it’s always nice to have a gift to open.Unpackaging the set is a feast for the senses. The deep green of the ribbon and the brown of the paper packaging, mix with their different feelings on the skin one coarse, one silky. Opening the package and removing the organic cotton pouch adds in to the variety of the textures. I loved the material and it’s Balinese touches are lovely. The pouch is both big enough for the set and small enough for even a clutch bag. For those with mobility issues or difficulty with their hands, the pouch has an easy to open with a magnetic fastening.The cutlery is hand carved from organic bamboo and the level of workmanship is outstanding. The grain of the bamboo is mesmerizing to look at and the colour is a rich honey gold. The utensils are chunky to hold and have a nice weight to them As I do suffer with a lot of pain and weakness in my hands due to Fibromyalgia this made them a lot easier for me to hold.My previous experiences of wooden cutlery has been the little forks you get with a cone of chips which always had a weird taste, so I was worried these might be the same. Not at all, their is no taste to them at all due to the food-approved varnish that is used on them. The only downside for me is that due to my own health conditions I have a restricted mouth opening making the fork a little uncomfortable to use but not impossible.I think the straw and chopsticks are a great addition to what would have already been a fantastic 3-piece set. The chopsticks have a nice square handle flowing down to a circular tip. They are easy to grip and would be wonderful when grabbing noodles or sushi on the go. I think the thing I will get the most use from is the straw as it is really versatile, great for water but also worked well with freshly squeezed juice and a smoothie. I’ve been looking for reusable straws for a while and this perfectly fits the bill.This is a fantastically well thought out set, and one that will definitely be accompanying me on my daily travels. I’ll also be making sure to pack them for Download and Bluedot festivals next year as I really hate seeing all of the rubbish that is left over when there.Barevida sent me their Bamboo Utensil Set in Slim Travel Pouch for the purposes of this review. I LOVE my new bamboo cutlery! It came in a beautiful little pouch which is super for storing it all together in my handbag and knowing it’s there whenever I need it! I love that I don’t have to reach for the disposable plastic cutlery any longer - That’s one little bit towards helping lessen the plastic waste we create!! And the barevida cutlery is so much stronger too! Great for my packed lunch today, or as a friend suggested - for the airport! I love that it comes with a straw.. as I am actively angry if someone gives me a plastic straw these days.. so now I have my own to hand! Also really normal to drink through it, and wide enough for a smoothie. I have so many friends who are trying to cut back on plastic and I know will just love these - the perfect present! I have been using it for five months and I absolutely love it. It takes minimal space in my small bag and it became one of my favourite items! My friends are always impressed with how cute it is, it's great to reduce your waste, especially if you eat a lot of takeaways.However, you might not be able to cut hard foods using this knife.

I’ve been reading lots of articles recently about cutting down on plastic and am really keen to start using less - this set makes it even easier as it is also so pretty!I take it everywhere I go and use it ALL the time! It's incredibly convenient and I've had so many compliments on it too. Will make a great present for any eco friend as the packaging is so lovely, and the quality is great.

I love this set. So much attention to detail, the pouch and Balinese touches are gorgeous. Really portable, fits into my handbag, great for being out and about. Very strong design, you can use it over and over again which is much better than other eco friendly sets I’ve come across. Also love the fact it has a straw in it and chopsticks. It’s a reasonable price, I may even get more as gifts for friends, anything I can do to help the environment. Just wish I had this for our travels! Thank you Bare Vida

I’m trying to cut down on single use plastic, so thought this would be ideal. It came in lovely packaging, the pouch is really pretty and fits perfectly in my handbag! Stops me reaching for straws and plastic cutlery when grabbing lunch out.They also seem really strong and washed well.

Beautifully designed, I love this bamboo set and just want more! Thanks so much, I can’t get enough of these.Perfect for travel and on the go, the beautiful embroidered pouch fits perfectly in my bag. I’ve also never seen a bamboo straw and this is definitely a keeper - glad I can do my bit to help out environment.Cleans really easily and strong too. I’ve tried other bamboo cutlery which can be weak - I’ll be ordering more barevida!
