For travel purposes, it's a little heavier than I expected, although obviously it's still significantly lighter than the large Tefal steamer I use at home.I'm actually quite surprised by how well it performs. It seems just as effective as my branded, heavier steamer and produces a strong amount of steam. Of course, that may change over time as it develops limescale, but so far I'm impressed. My branded steamer constantly needs descaling, which is certainly affecting its performance.The Jack & Rose steamer is smaller and much lighter, making it easier to handle and manoeuvre. The water tank does empty fairly quickly, but that's to be expected given its compact size. The good thing is that it also heats up very fast.Another thing that I really like is that the water tank can be fully opened to dry. My branded steamer only has a small opening, so it never dries completely and constantly has a musty smell.I originally bought this steamer for travel, but I have a feeling I'll end up using it regularly at home as well, simply because it's so much easier to manoeuvre. With my old steamer, my arm would feel tired after steaming just one garment because of the weight.
