LanarteCounted Cross Stitch Kit: Irises (Linen), NA, 40 x 28cm

To pale in colouring to follow so I sent it back

I bought this as an Xmas gift for my wife - her choice. The image is delicate and beautiful. No issue there. Her problem arrives with the threads. These are essential. With the guides etc are the threads. There were supposed to be enough to complete the picture. But no. Definitely not. So, intrepid as she is, my wife set about finding new from the company. She used the correct numbers but they came back with a greater silk weave - so a different thread - and in colours which did not match. Either the packing process by the company was at fault or they have created new batches which do not conform to the original. I think these are fundamental errors. This is the second of these it's happened with. I feel anyone buying these should know.

Great kit, good quality pattern and plenty of DMC threads all presorted. Love working on linen but it's not for everyone , it's important to ensure you take time to line up the centre as you start as it will reflect in the placement on the printed sections, which are quite dark in places. I have been working steadily on this kit for 2 months and probably half done, so plenty to keep you occupied for a couple of months. Very happy with the results to date,

As I had just finished a rather complicated Gobelin, I was looking for something else and liked the look of this picture as it goes well with others I've done. Had I read the description more closely, and checked the size of the squares, I might have changed my mind. It will be quite a challenge but I think it will be worth it in the end but it is certainly not something one can work on for hours on end. (Only 4 stars because of the size of the stitches)

Purchased Lady with Lilac Flowers and am about a quarter of the way through. Its a lovely Cross Stitch to do and the first one I have ever done on linen. It needs a lot more concentration but so far I haven't gone wrong! It is quite difficult to do as the colours are very muted. The kit arrived in good condition and well packaged.

Gift as yet unopened. Can't comment.

Great sewing

This is a Lanarte kit and as usual of high quality, enjoyable to do if you are able to work with 30 count linen.
