Does it doeverything that the beat buddy switch does

Mine seems to do everything that the DrumBuddy manual says you can do. You do have to get into the drum buddy and program the things that you want the switch to do and that can get a little confusing. But the switch is just a switch, nothing fancy and it does what their switch does, it does what the drumbuddy tells it to do.

Did anyone get any instructions when you got yours? and are they needed at all? using mine for my beatbuddy mini 2.

No, the instruction manual is online. I'm using mine with the same Beatbuddy.

Will it work for a Boss RC 1 looper?

It should work for any unit that calls for a momentary switch with TRS input.
