Duragear DLX Pet Travel Hammock Slate XL 60"

We purchased this product to keep our dog's claws and fur off the backseat. We were attracted by claims that this product would easily make the backseat accessible for human passengers, and could even allow a human on one half of the seat and dog on the other. This product does all of that effectively in our SUV. We attach the cover using the front and rear headrests and with the velcro straps around the seat belts. One potential issue is that our dog likes to nest, so occasionally she paws the cover away from the edges of the seat exposing a bit of one side or the other. This is not a problem for us, but might be for others. We did not have success pushing the cover in between the rear seat cushion and back as recommended, and perhaps by adjusting or working on more securely fastening it down we wouldn't have the issue. We love the center zipper and will open this a bit on hot days to improve air flow to the backseat. An unexpected bonus has been that our dog LOVES to lay in the portion of the hammock suspended over the rear floorboards, leaning against the front seats. Once settled there, she is clearly more comfortable than she was just laying in the backseat.

The quality of this product is not posh but it is no more or less than I expected for the price. However, there are a few things that future buyers should keep in mind. The first is that the hammock is a bit too narrow for a pick-up truck with a crew cab. As a result the front panel does not lie straight up and down as pictured, but rather it slopes up to the front headrest. This sloping creates a couple of problems in that it makes the seat portion a bit smaller so my dog does not have as much room to lie in, but more importantly the sloping front panel makes a lovely ramp for my dog to climb up and over into my lap, which sort of defeats the whole purpose of the thing in my mind. Also the edges of the hammock could use some sort of stiffening material because the hammock tends to sag and slide around.

I recently purchased a 2012 Subaru Forester. I wanted something for the dog to keep her safe and comfortable. She rides with me quite a bit when the weather is nice. It fits very nicely and covers the entire back seat. It appears to be of good quality and I believe the fabric will be comfortable for her to lay on. There are some pockets built into it, which is nice, but I would have preferred them be behind the passenger seat rather than the driver's seat. I think it'd be much easier for the drive to get at them there. My dog is a 50 pound border collie/black lab and she had no trouble getting into the car with the hammock in place. I think she'll enjoy it and my leather seats will stay clean and be protected.

This is a well thought out product and worth the premium over some of the alternatives. Reversible fleece/nylon sides are great depending on your use, and clip to keep center zipper closed is a nice feature missing from some other pet car hammocks. Installs and removes easily and has pockets to tuck between seat bottom and seat back for secure fit. Only additional feature that would be nice is a strip going around the seats (width-wise) to keep the back spread as wide as possible.Goes well with the Dog About Vehicle Door Protectors.

Pet travel hammock is nice, although it is not the size the seller advertised it as being. It is not 60 in. wide, it is 56 in. wide, and 56 in.long. The back seat of my Honda RIdgeline could have used the extra 4 in.

Ordered this a few months ago and I don't think we've taken it out since! Fits perfectly in the back of a Honda CR-V. Easy to unclip and move aside if we need the seat. Totally worth it to protect the leather.

fits well in my Subaru Outback. My dog sheds a lot the product keeps dog hair off seats and flooring. Perfect for my purposes.

works great and the dog hair does not sick all over it like it does to my cloth seats. Highly recommend it.
