What is the height of these? are they rh/lh?

Has far as rh/Lh no, they are exactly the same. I'm not sure if height. I can check later. They wouldn't work as kick panels in my corolla, but work ok in my Focus SVT.

Is there a mounting surface inside of the housing?

No. Hollow back. I had to use small nuts & bolts to mount angle brackets on the inside which let me mount the pods to my application. More planning than I wanted, yet it worked perfectly and my setup sounds pretty phenomenal.
