Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust - Standard BD [Blu-ray]

There should be more Vampire Hunter D movies! With this movie not disappointing in the sliest, I highly recommend it!Follows the book Demon Deathchase quite well, and while a little shorter for the movie adaptation, it was a pretty good adaptation i highly recommend.

Still one of the most beautifully animated movies ever made. Ignore the one-star review criticising the lack of some "original" Japanese dub, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust was an American/Japanese coproduction and the English dub was actually recorded first.

Arrived as described, loved the moves, high quality all around.

A true masterpiece!

I was beyond excited for the bluray to finally be released - we only have a very old german manga mania dvd version... only to find out that this is one of the ugliest bluray conversions i have ever seen.This is not a new scan of any original material but an extremely cheap upscale. Instead of a native 1080p scan there is an extremely ugly oversharpening filter applied that brings out all kinds of digital noise and upscaling artifacts.To make things worse, someone who has absolutely no idea about color grading has changed all the contrast values to give it that „bluray pop“ - but all it does is crush all black detail and give the film a constant strobe-like flickering.Finally all warm colors and green hues have been sapped out of the picture - possibly because someone thought all bright tones / highlights need to be hot white.In times where even cheap idol made-for-tv animes get perfect collectors boxes, it is really sad to see how such amazing classics get treated.If they had just put the dvd version on a bluray as is we would be much better of than with this horrible „remaster“.Avoid this release at all cost.

Don't waste your time with hurrendous dubs like this. There is no option to watch this classic in its original (actual) form.Instead.

I stumbled across this anime in a social network.The story is simple, with somewhat of a twist, but effective in the end. The main character, 'D', albeit simple as well, remains effective within the storytelling. Main 'Antagonist' and his motives were actually unexpected. Look, I watched this movie while doing a pelotón workout. But I had to stop and finish it the way it was intended. The real protagonists of this movie are the art with its hyper stylized gothic characters and architecture, the voice acting is amazing, and my god, the animation; I was not expecting animation of this quality from what is now a vintage movie. Geez; I can only hope they do produce a sequel or a TV series based on the original source material.

La película llegó a tiempo y en buen estado. La animación es de primera, su historia es muy buena, ahora que la vuelvo a ver en una mejor calidad me ha gustado más. No tiene subtítulos en español.

So there's no Japanese dub because of licensing issues way back when, so that's something to bare in mind. The English dub is fine, but I don't personally mind eother way. The animation itself is some of the best I've seen! Worth getting, and the seller (Dennis) shipped it really fast and securely!

This is a classic anime for all collectors. The blu-ray version is great. Thoroughly entertained!
