Q: Do they work with seal a meal bags?

I have not tried 'seal a meal' bags. The clips hold the ziplock type. But I have found that you want to leave an inch or 2 of extra baggie on the bottom so when you start to pour something like soup it doesn't yank the baggie out. I bet you could do the same thing with the seal a meal bags and just keep the arms lower, then bunch up the baggie under the clips... I am not sure if that is helpful.

Q: How do you get the sides to go back down after use?

Kathy... It takes a bit of pressure, but you can push the green sides back down.

Q: Are the clips on these wide enough to securely hole the thicker silicone bags, like Thrasher? The pictures only show thinner bags like ziplock.

I am not familiar with the bags the person ask about, however the clamp will open to about one-eighth of an inch. The clamp would probably break if forced to open much more than that.

Q: Can you fold down the zipper so it doesn't get wet?

I think if you try to fold down the baggie when you fill it you may have a hard time trying not spill the contents when you take it off the holder to seal it up.
