I have never used collogen casings, but the price on fresh casing is going up. My son wanted to make homemade hotdogs and I wanted a casing that would be just a little bit larger than a normal hot dog. This was perfect. They were easy to handle and they stuffed beautifully. No tears. You must follow the directions for soaking prior to stuffing. We made 10 pounds of Chili Cheese Dogs and 10 poundsof Buffalo Chicken Dogs. They were great!! They grilled up perfectly and had a GREAT snap when you bite into them. No toughness at all. This will be my GOTO now for making Hot Dogs or Brats.

This was an excellent product. I used to use natural hog casings for my sausages and I was a little skeptical to buy Collagen casings. I only regret not having purchased it before.
