FANTASTIC PRODUCT
I bought an ebike that shall remain nameless and it came with really bad disc brakes that were going to cause the end of living for me. They didn't work and only applied pressure on one side of the rotor. This is pretty common with an entry level bike. But your life is your life. A friend told me about these. THEY ARE AMAZING. Easy to install. (Look up the vid on youtube.) They are really powerful and ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. Don't risk breaking your neck. Trust your gut on brakes. If they feel weak, or squeal like pigs...they're junk. HY/RD for the win.

Well worth the price.
Direct bolt on replacement for mechanical disc brakes. Works very well. it doesn’t get contaminated with dust so it should last longer then TRP mechanical brakes did. They also stop better then the mechanical brakes do!

Very very worth it. Added it to my Inokim Ox a couple hours ago. Buying another for the wife's now!
I don't have other mechanical or hydraulic braking systems to compare this to, only the disc brake that came on our Inokim Ox but I can tell you we love this little device. I'm back here to order another one for my wife's Inokim Ox next. It easily cut my stopping distance in half which is important when you're 230# like I am. I highly recommend this upgrade to my other buddies with rear disc brakes on their scooters.Oh, and install took me about 10 minutes. Super easy. Just look for the YT tutorial.

It's a 7 month review
I put these brakes on my 1500w, 52v ebike back in November of 2019. I live in a section of a city that is called the hill section, what ever direction you go there are hills up then down. I use my bike as a commuter to get around and I like to ride it hard, stop signs every to every other block and I stop at them all. The bike weighs in at 75lbs, I'm 230lbs and carry a back pack up to 15lbs and traveling at speeds of up to 40 Miles an hour and it stops on a dime. I need to find something more durable because this bike eats up brake pads, about every 300 miles I need to replace the rear pads and about every 400 mile I need to replace the front pads at 16 bucks a tire. No gripes about the brakes they work great I just need something more significant.

Low mileage failure
TRP HY/RD unit failed after 3475 miles; no help from TRP support in trying to find out why.

Easiest upgrade ever for mechanical disc brake bikes
While a full hydraulic braking system will have even easier braking pressure, you can't beat the simplicity of this upgrade if you don't want to change out the entire brake system. Evenly clamps both sides of the rotor too for even pressure.

No more adjusting my BB7s
I was a little nervous about these brakes as some of the reviews on the internet claimed that they were 'squishy' (meaning the lever travel was excessive to get them to really clamp down). I am happy to report that they are a solid brake with short lever throw...it could be that TRP silently updated the caliper after some of the reviews. As others say, these install quickly. They took a little longer on my bike as the cables on my old BB7s were slightly too short to fit clamp into these new calipers, without either replacing a cable or trimming a cable housing. I opted to replace the cable, so my install took "20 minutes, plus the time to go pick up a cable at the bike shop".The feel of these cable-actuated hydraulic disc brakes really is incredibly better than the BB7s, and they should be much lower maintenance to boot. A win-win.

quality
if quality means anything to you over a shaving grams of weight then this is the best caliper out. Im running an odyssey g3 gyro on my 26" dirt jumper and having hydraulics at the caliper makes it so you can run cable the rest. Hints no more winding the brake cable around the stem to do barspins.

Good
Very good, but no better than the twin piston cable type. I tried out of curiosity so you dont have to… save your money and get the trp spyre’s

Good customer Service
It was great ordering for unique E store because he asked what rotor I was using it with & included the right adaptor although I’m not using the brake as yet but have them on another bike

This one works well
I used this to replace a older Hy-Rd that wouldn't retract full since almost day one. That one was the previous generation I think (2014). This one works well so far.
