They are made of biodegradable compacted peat. The entire pot can be transplanted into its final location completely avoiding transplant shock. These peat pots are excellent for starting your plants indoors. Once your plants are ready to move outdoors, plant the entire peat pot and all and reduce transplant shock. Peat Pots are an ecological way to grow strong, healthy plants. Our unique process creates a pot that is environmentally friendly, sustainable and practical. This 100 round Peat pot like Seed Starter tray is a great way to start any garden or flower bed or vegetable seeds. 100% Natural and Organic & Biodegradable

So easy and convenient for planting seeds
We had quite a few seeds to start and only a few of these type of pots and then the black plastic trays. After our first round of planting we discovered that we hate the plastic trays but love these pots. They're so easy and convenient to plant in the garden.since it was such a big pack (and we wasted many seeds before using these) we have a bunch leftover for our spring garden. They came packaged in a box and none we're damaged, and shipping was fast! If you have seeds to start I would definitely recommend these pots!

Garbage - don't waste your money!
I bought these figuring that based on the reviews, they would work for my needs...but quickly discovered they merely made my seed starting experience a frustrating one.- They are difficult to separate. I spent a bit of time gently working the pots apart and still managed to rip a couple.- They are NOT durable. If you water them any more than a light mist (and I mean a LIGHT mist), they start to disintegrate within a matter of days. That might work for when the seeds are just starting to sprout but it doesn't work when they require 6-8 weeks of growth (and therefore more water) before being transplanted into the garden. This defeats the purpose as these are THREE-INCH POTS, not the mini 6-pk pots. This makes me question whether they are made of paper instead of peat.- If they don't fall apart, they start molding - like, science fair experiment kind of molding. I start my seeds in a well-ventilated basement (I even have an oscillating fan going for added insurance) and of the variety of peat pots I used, these were the only ones that molded and by the time it was time to transplant, I had so much green and black mold growing on the outside, I couldn't tell what I had written on the outside of the pot in a permanent marker. In summary: Don't buy these. Yes, you'll pay more for the Jiffy brand peat pots (or other well-known brands), but you'll also get a much better quality and user experience.

Great for starters!
I ran through the entire package quicker than I thought I would. Delivered faster than predicted, sturdy until they've been watered alot. Easy to break down, I already have some in dirt and they are decomposing nicely.

I Love That I Can Stick These In The Ground!
These are wonderful for seedlings and I love that I can just pop the pots in a bigger pot or into the ground without disturbing the seedlings. Biodegradable too!

Quickly falls apart.
I purchased these for a seed planting activity with kids last weekend. I had used damp soil and only a spray bottle to spritz the top. By the time most kids were leaving their pot was already falling apart (30-60 minutre) I doubled them up, but it was just a matter of time before those too would be falling apart. I was bit disappointed. Not a good option for seed starting, because they dont handle any amount of moisture.

Flimsy difficult product
Flimsy pots and a lot of the pots had holes from poor manufacturing. Hard to separate and fall apart once you water plants. I used them but not the best quality out there.

they easily split and fall apart
Pots have a tendency to begin to break down before plants are ready to put into the ground
