This SSD is definitely for laptop, but i am using it in a desktop, i am not that tech savvy, but managed to install it, and have an operating system loaded onto the drive, its not very hard. its pretty tiny, you can easily tape it or screw it. Did Not require enough space, also its fairly light too. i just have my operating system on it, and using another 3tb hdd to store other stuff, the performance on SSD has impressed me so much, that i might make the jump soon to a 1tb SSD

I purchased this SSD so that I could bring back to life an old company discarded laptop. The original drive was destroyed so that all proprietary information was removed from the laptop. This drive brought that laptop back to being a viable option for me to use for work or play! The boot up time for the laptop is incredibly fast and with the addition of 4gb of ram, the laptop is one that I would not mind using to run my SDKs on or after hours run my youtube videos on or do some web research on peripherals I am interested in purchasing.This SSD might not be the best for gaming or video editing? I am not sure because I only purchased this to bring an old laptop back to a viably working state and for that purpose, it does the job and it does it well! I had 4 other discarded laptops that I brought back to life using just standard old school hdds I had lying around, but if I ever need those to be in a viably usable state today, I would most likely purchase another one of these drives as well as a stick of 4gb ram to bring those other laptops up to what I consider a useful condition.

I just want to upgrade my laptop hard drive with a low budget to speed up the loading speed on windows 10. This SSD load windows very fast comparing 7200 hard drive. The installation was easy, it is so much better than HDD since it loads windows and applications much faster. Fast and reliable SSD, works perfectly and give a new life to my laptop, super fast delivery, good packaging, and reasonable cost.

This SSD drive is noticeably faster than a regular drive. You just plug it into the SATA III interface cable and attach the power cable. Your operating system might recognize it right away. I rebooted anyway, just to be sure it doesnt get confused. It worked right away. Just follow the screen prompts.

I cloned a Windows 10 O/S from a gaming machine then tried playing a game Worked like a charm. Will definitely consider this brand for my next O/S.

The SSD literally arrived not working. It was receiving power, it literally wouldn't turn on regardless of slot or cord I used, wasted 50 dollars for a paperweight. I got a refund for it but it's inexcusable to have it ship as broken. Save your money elsewhere.

Been using this product about a week now and so far I have been very impressed with the drive for the money spent. General usage boot times are VERY fast and inline with what you would expect from a modern SSD. This has the SM2258G chipset and having searched the firmware version and compared PCBs I can confirm this is a Kingdian S280 re-badged. Benchmarks are slightly below my crucial MX500 SSD but WAAAAY better than the Kingston A400 I sent back before getting this. It is also faster than the Silicone Power SSD that I also tried. This does have a small DRAM cache which means you don't get the stuttering and sluggishness associated with the super cheap drives (which this shares company with). Got mine on a lightening deal for £35 at that money it is a total steal, even the retail price of £41 is a bargain considering the Kingston is over £15 more at the time of writing.UPDATE - Been running well over 12 months, this thing is still ticking with no issues. I have since upgraded the machine and and added an M500 mSata drive to the machine. Benchmarks updated, but in summary, this thing is actually faster across the majority of benchmarks. Really is a true budget marvel!

Bought this one for half the price of a Crucial MX500 which I originally intended to buy. I thought that for half the price it could be half as fast and I'd still be happy. Ha! It's up to 10 times slower (see the attached screenshots and compare to reviews on YouTube). I wonder how they obtained that "benchmark" of theirs. Otherwise works as expected, but I am returning anyway.

Great disk - benchmarked a lot faster than my Kingston SSD drive, made my PC feel like new!

Very good product backward compatible with older laptops. If your Kingston got problems with your old computer, try this as an good alternative.

I loaded it up and was very impressed by the speed of the drive.
