This is a great alarm clock. It has a setting so there is no display unless there is a noise over 60db. I prefer a dark room at night when I sleep so this is great for me. It also has a setting so the alarm ONLY goes off on weekdays and NOT the weekend. The 3 different alarm time settings are better than a preset snooze because you can set them for whatever time you want. So far a fantastic find and I am glad I bought this. I've wanted one of these "shine through the wood" type clocks for a while but they used to only be sold in the light tan color, so I was happy when I came across this one. It looks really nice next atop my ikea shelf. It's not real wood, but similar to my ikea furniture.Couple cool things:- you can set the clock light to stay off, but turn on when you touch it (or clap).- when the clock is not lit, I was not able to see any transparency for the lights behind. Looks like a neat block of wood.- the dim setting is the best (for me). Doesn't blind me when on at night. The brightest setting would be great for a bright room. Crisp, large, easy to read, and BRIGHT (for a clock). My included picture is at it's dimmest brightness.- At least these last couple days, when I've been moving it around trying to find a good place for it, I noticed an internal battery is keeping my settings set when I unplug it. I hope it keeps the time even if I lose power. Not sure how long the battery will last though.- That said, it also has 4 AA batteries which I assume allow it to work unplugged or when the power goes out. I don't plan to use this, but it's nice addition.- Finally, it plugs into a USB port, which is nice because I have a multi-USB power port so I don't have these stupid bricks blocking all my plugs.

What everyone is saying on here is true-this thing is a total pain to set and then reset again when you accidentally touch the wrong button on the back. And by the way, touching the button on the back is the only way to turn the alarm off and there is no snooze button. There is no weekend alarm time setting also and this thing will wake you up on a weekend when you just want to sleep in. Push the wrong button by mistake and now you have the stupid display that shows the date and year constantly-seriously? Better keep the instructions under the clock because you'll have to go back through all the setting to fix one thing. The only thing I like about it is the availability of Humidity and Temperature.Mine doesn't work with batteries at all so it's not portable.I thought it really would look "wood grain" but mine just looks like a cheap piece of black plastic.

The instruction booklet is helpful insofar as it goes. It doesn't explain how to tell am from pm. It doesn't tell if it has a snooze button (I don't think it does).My biggest complaint is with the alarms. To set the alarms, you have to go all the way thru setting time, date, etc. That's annoying, but what's really annoying is that the clock doesn't tell you if any alarms are set. I've gone to bed and been awakened too early because I didn't realize I hadn't turned the alarm off. And it's a pain to check the alarms because you have to go all the way thru the other settings to get to the alarms. A series of dots on the left side could show if an alarm is set and which one.I'd return it if it didn't cost so much. I think I'll just give it to my husband and secretly set alarms on my birthday and our anniversary.

I love the design. I love the black out face setting. The size is great and the faux wood look is a great touch. I was thinking this model had different alarm setting 'sounds' but its just a beep beep beep. I wish it had an option for a softer, more gradual alarm to wake you up instead of being jostled out of bed. But you have to hold one button for a couple seconds and then keep pushing that button to step through settings to get to the alarm to turn it on or off and then set the desired time. Its a 'week' alarm clock, so its perfect for someone that wakes up every day at the same time. I have a random work week and it varies by sometimes a few hours. I think this alarm clock would get 5 stars from me if there was a simple switch to turn the alarm on or off and give us some different sound options.

Basically, if the clock would keep time and you could change the time, this clock would be great. Looks nice and great to clearly see the time, humidity, and indoor temperature. I haven't gotten around to checking the temperature accuracy it appears to be accurate.But the most importing thing would be the clock which loses about 1 minute a month. This could be fine if you could easily change the time. It generally takes my wife and me, 7 minutes to change. It is not rocket science that there could be an up and down arrow for quick maintenance and upkeep. Especially since the clock is lost time after around 3 weeks.:(J

Display is bright which might turn others off from purchasing this. I however enjoy it as it creates a nightlight effect in the room. You can also turn the display off but like I said I like it. Not sure how accurate the humidity and temp sensor is but seems higher then what the room feels like. I love the look of the unit and don’t have any issues with it. I would recommend this for an adult as the “wood grain” is actually a sticker which is fine for us but a teenager or child would easily damage this unit and have it peeling in no time.

I love this clock! The case is made of wood and feels wonderful. There are 3 luminosity settings which I appreciate. It is just the right size. It shows the temp and relative humidity. It has two alarm times. Setting it is not really intuitive which initially gave me pause. I have two kittens who check everything out, it has a triangular shape so it is hard to knock over, thank heavens! I love this clock!
