Works as expected, but not 100% plastic free
First of all, I studied chemistry and my review might get a bit too obsessive with the molecules, but I will try my best to write as simple as possible. Prior to my purchase, I read all reviews that mentioned the absence of plastic in this kettle and so I was very excited to make the purchase. Upon inspection and testing, I discovered that the filter is partly made out of plastic. It will touch the water when you try to pour out the water. I immediately removed the filter because I don't need it since I use filtered water. However, I also discovered that a tiny plastic part is sitting on the edge of the kettle, which is a part of the mechanism to bridge the kettle with the handle. Well, it is not touching the water at all because the max water level is very far away from it. However, if you boil the water and let it sit there, the steam will naturally rise and then it will, in a very short time, heat up anything that's in its way. In this case, the steel lid and the tiny plastic part. Theoretically, once the plastic part becomes hot enough, it will release BPA chemicals like any other plastic material. Then, the water droplets will eventually bring the BPA chemicals down to the water by gravity. You can try putting your finger above boiled water and you will see how quickly the steam will burn your finger. It's like 5 seconds only. Imagine the poor plastic part sitting there for like a good 10mins before the water cools down. So I guess you would have to pour our the water as soon as it gets boiled. Personally, I bought this kettle with the intention to make warm water only, but I figured I could share my observations with potential buyers who are sensitive like myself.

Updated review: they are bribing customers
Update: My original review of this product was 3 stars which I thought to be fair. I made my purchase based on positive reviews, naturally. The kettle stopped working completely after 4 months which was disappointing. However, customer service was helpful and immediately sent a replacement which I fully appreciate but the kettle was still defective so I thought 3 stars were fair. Customer service emailed me asking me to review their product and in return they would send me a free coffee grinder or vegetable chopper. So, I wrote my honest review below. They have emailed me again asking me to change my review to a more positive one before they send me a free item.My problem is that they are duping customers by exchanging positive reviews for free bonus items. The kettle I ordered stopped working and I wanted potential customers to be aware. Reviews are here to help us decide on good products, and I feel it is unethical for them to bw conducting business this way.My review was polite and honest and even complimentary, praising the effective customer service. But I don't appreciate them trying to bribe their way to a 5 star review. So as a result I have brought my rating down because they are trying to hide negativity. Not cool.Original review:I first bought this kettle and was very, very excited about it. It looks great, heated the water quickly, and the blue light is a cool feature. It worked great - until it didn't. Four months later it just stopped turning on for no reason at all. I never submerged it in water and used it regularly. I contacted customer service who were very helpful and did send a replacement at no cost to me. I hope that the other one was just a dud and the second one holds up since I do really like it.

Love this Kettle
I bought this water kettle as a replacement for a different brand I had been using for a couple of years that stopped working.I looked at several models and types before deciding on the Hadin EEon Electric Kettle Model HK1705. Things that Influenced my decision were:Lots of 4 & 5 star reviewsLarge capacity: holds1.8L of waterHeats water quicklyGlass pot with blue lighting when onReasonable price—paid under $30Not much plastic—none in contact w/ WaterSturdy constructionSwitch is built into handle3 year warranty (with option to add Square Trade Amazon warranty coverage)I’ve been using this electric kettle for about a week and I really like it. For those wondering, the glass gets very hot to the touch but so did our previous metal kettle. Just use the handle and you’ll be fine. There’s a little mesh filter at the pour spout if that’s important to you but it is always super clean because I only boil water in it. My last kettle had a plastic switch at the base of the kettle. I think it may have failed because of the design. This kettle’s off/on switch is built into the handle and looks to be more stable.I have to say that it is refreshing when a company treats you like an appreciated customer. The paperwork inside the box thanked me for buying their product and then got an email from the company expressing their appreciation. They are also confident enough in their product to provide a 3yr warranty!!! Wow! It’s becoming more and more common these days to make customers feel like the company could do without their business. Not so in this instance. Kudos to Hadin EEon!

Great quality kettle
I was looking for a replacement for my old kettle and a friend recommended this one to me. The clear glass is nice to keep an eye on progress. It allows you to see when the water is just beginning to boil which is nice when making green tea and other delicate teas that get bitter if the water is too hot. The design is nice and sleek and the cord coils around the base when not in use. Not sure the blue light is necessary, but guess it serves a purpose in letting you know that the kettle is turned on. Though I was not familiar with this brand, it is well made. The lid stays up easily when opened and there is a strainer which removes any residue. The glass is clean looking and shouldn’t oxidize like my old metal kettle. The pot turns off automatically when the boiling is completed. So far I’m enjoying my purchase, just in time for tea on cold days.
