Best 1.8 oz. in my backpacking gear
I purchased the Feed Bag for a backcountry backpacking trip to the High Sierras. It turned out to be the best 1.8 ounces in my gear. We were logging some big miles at very high altitude and had to carry all our food for seven days in bear canisters. Space and weight were very precious. I had already repackaged all my food into one quart freezer bags to enable it all to fit into my BV500 BearVault. So I needed something durable to rehydrate all my Mountain House and Backpackers Pantry meals. The Feed Bag did the job perfectly. Even at 12,0000 feet my meals cooked faster, more thoroughly and stayed warmer much longer than just dumping boiling water into the food manufacturers dehydrated Mylar pouches. My Louisiana Red Beans and Rice came out hot and tender and fully cooked. I can't tell you how many times I've suffered through tepid, chewy beans at the end of a long Trek. No more, now that I have my Feed Bag.It also works good as a wind shield. You'll need to hold it to keep it away from the flame. I also used it as a face visor when taking a catnap at the base of Forrester Pass In the hot midday sun. I bought one for my hiking buddy as a surprise. He was skeptical at first. But when he felt how light it was and when he cooked one if his usual Lipton or Rice-A-Roni meals, he too couldn't believe how hot his food was at 12,000 feet. One day he saved some leftovers from lunch and four hours later his food was still warm, even though it was 50 degrees outside. The Feed Bag is a terrific product and an excellent value. I highly recommend it.

I like these, they work great
I like these, they work great, but they are a little bulky and the material is very stiff and doesn't want to stay the way you put it- so hopefully it'll soften over time.

I would like to see it available in a smaller size
It works well.Rather large to accomodate the Mountain House and other freeze dried pouch foods.I would like to see it available in a smaller size.

Great idea, great product.
We just returned from a 5 day / 4 night backpacking trip along the Divide Trail in New Mexico's Pecos Wilderness. Bought two of these for this trip, and I'm happy to report they performed flawlessly. As they are flexible, that makes it easy to pack with the rest of your food. We were doubling hydration time due to altitude and having dinners during hail storms. These fully cooked the meals and kept them hot.

no more hot hands :)
I love this thing, I was the envy of my last backpacking adventure. The cozy performed as advertised, the dehydrated Mountain House meals stayed hot much longer and not once did I burn my hands. The product is made well and weighs nothing, I can see it lasting for many backpacking trips.

Works great
I make my own foods. I use a Tupperware bowl to place hot water and food in. Place it in The Feed Bag for about 20 min and food is ready and still hot.

Product showed up on time and in very good shape, got to love that
Product showed up on time and in very good shape, got to love that. I do a lot of freezer bag cooking on hiking trips and before this little jewel, it was kind of hit or miss. I would take a bag of what ever and pour two cups of boiling water in it and normally there would still be half a cup of water left in the bag after the cooking was done. That's to say it cooled off so much the cooking process naturally stopped. Now I pour the same two cups of water in the freezer bag of what ever and slide it into this puppy and POW no more water and after twenty min of sitting it's almost still too hot to eat; that's awesome!!!It's so awesome, I just bought a second one and it's on it's way.The only down side is it's a little on the big side if you worry about that, packing it away may present a trick. when I pack it away I fold it and slide it into a freezer bag to offer a little more protection of the material and to not damage it. Over all well worth the money and it works perfectly!!!!!

Awesome piece of kit
For packit gourmet / mountain house dehydrated meal eaters on the trail, this is a simple but oh-so-necessary item to have on the trail. Keeps hot meals hot in spite of bitter cold, makes the hot pouches not scolding hot to the touch so you can actually handle them to eat and it's light as a feather. Also can be substituted as an impromptu sit pad in a pinch. Love it!
