This is dangerous!
We received the bottle several days ago and I took it to a welding shop to fill it with CO2 today. Several hours later the bottle top gave out with a loud bang. The bottle flew off the counter and broke a kitchen floor tile. All the CO2 escaped in a great white hissing cloud. No one got hurt luckily but it was very very scary. Could have been worse?

Shiny body and brass valve but 5 month old hydro date
Got my tank today. Looks better than the picture. Its all polished aluminum all the way including the neck area, as well as brand new brass valve all shining and polished all over. The picture on this page, does not do justice to what I got.. its bright sparkling from top to bottom... good look! The date is a bit less ideal. Mine came as Oct 2015, i.e. already 5 month old. I asked seller after I order about this.. well I guess instead of getting 60 months worth of use, some guys get lucky and get a new tank the month it was made (i.e. hydro date). This is good for 5 years/60 months of use though as it gets closer to the end, you may be asked to do a hydro test as fillers may not want fill a tank with less than 6 months hydro left. But I am not sure about this.So if one loses 5 months over 60 months you pay for, its like 10% or 9% off the value.Maybe best to go around the various sellers and contact them ahead and ask the hydro date on their tank, if possible and then decide.Plastic wheel handle at the top.Could not find dents or such so seems quite sturdy built and has survived UPS Ground even though was packaged in a box without any additional padding or protection other than the walls of the box itself. Now I cannot wait to get it filled with CO2 for $15 (New Jersey price) - while I wait, no exchange scam, and start producing tasty strong seltzer and soda in standard 1L and 2L soda plastic bottles (have the rest of the system already - including soda plastic bottle adapters - check my other reviews)! Bye bye Sodastream and buying soda from the store...4 stars since I take one star off because of the hydro date being 5 month old. If you get lucky to get a fresher date one, its a great buy and surely a 5 stars one - just ask the seller ahead and find out who has freshly manufactured tanks.

Good Tank for your CO2 Needs.
First, this is my first time owning a gas cylinder but not my first time using one. As a chemist and certified SCUBA diver I have used a fair share of beat up old steel tanks full of various gases. This tank puts all those others to shame. The shinny brushed aluminum cylinder is a perfect companion for my fully planted aquarium. My tank arrived with a two month old hydro date, stamped with the dot necessities, and a plastic mesh sleeve to cover the exterior. The only thing missing on this cylinder would be the hazard communication standard sticker label with pictogram warning users that this is a gas cylinder containing a non-flammable carbon dioxide gas under pressure. Some places require these labels before they will fill your tanks. Upon receiving I immediately took it to my local fire extinguisher supplier and had it filled up for about $13. They had no problems with the tank. As far as the build quality goes for the price paid it is perfect. My only qualm is the plastic stem valve handle (my handle is black and not silver as shown in the picture). I am use to metal handles usually supplied with the bigger gas tanks. However, if necessary this could be changed out down the road, but by that time they hydro will be due and I will probably just end up swapping the tank out at a local gas supplier. Overall, I would rate this as a good buy regardless if you fill it or swap it out to fill your carbon dioxide. I called around and priced tanks at my local gas/welding suppliers and all of them quoted me $85 or more for a used tank. You do the math...

Looks nice, but you probably can't keep it
It seems like a nice enough CO2 tank. But be warned, almost no one will fill a new tank. Welding shops and so on exchange tanks, so you'll take your shiny new tank in and go home with a used tank, never having used the new one. However it's not all bad, a new (used) tank locally is $80 and a refill $20. So for $60 I didn't lose anything buying this online, but I also didn't gain anything over skipping a step and going to the store.

Awesome quality, good price, should last forever.
Good sturdy made in USA tank, should last forever. I'm using this one for co2 injection in my aquarium, last months and months on a 50g tank.
