there are better belts out there
I bought this and have worn it only a few times. It is very uncomfortable for me. I wore it low on my hips like I am supposed to, but I started to wonder what was more annoying: the belt or the SPD?! I have since purchase a thicker belt with more support options and it is not only way more comfortable, but I get significant relief from it. This belt would provide a little relief in the moment, but my SPD would actually ache even more by the end of the day wearing it. Also, the design makes it difficult to take it on and off to go to the bathroom. The quality is very good, and I don't doubt it helps some people, but there are better options out there that provide more support

Worth a try, though it's by no means a cure
There's no magic cure for symphysis pubis dysfunction, unfortunately. This belt helps somewhat, and I wore it almost every day for the second half of my pregnancy. I had a few gripes about it, though:1) The belt tends to slip upward off of your hips, so if you try to make it quite tight, it slithers away and the effect is lost. I had to keep pushing it back down.2) The velcro is extremely noisy - to remove the belt, I'd have to go into the bathroom and shut the door so as not to waken my sleeping family members!3) The plastic components are not as durable as they should be. One of the plastic buckles broke after several months of normal use. To their credit, the manufacturers quickly sent me a new belt free of charge.I haven't tried any other similar belts, so I don't know how this one compares. But I will say that it is relatively easy to use, affordable, and it helps relieve SPD symptoms well enough to be worth a try. While wearing it, I would still experience pain while walking, but the pain was somewhat lessened, and I'd feel less stiff and achy by the end of the day.

PT didn't recommend it
I didn't feel as if this did anything for me :-(my physical therapist had me bring it to an appt and she said she wouldn't recommend it because it tightens with one hand pulling and twisting your body to one side as opposed to belts that have two straps pulled simultaneously from both sides, maintaining good body mechanics.

Sweet relief!
I am currently 31 weeks with my second SPD pregnancy. I used the "It's You Babe Hip Brace" with my previous pregnancy and while it worked, it was not nearly as comfortable as this one, which I picked up during this pregnancy. This one doesn't dig in like the other one does. I should also mention that I have been pursuing physical therapy fairly aggressively this pregnancy so I don't need it quite every day like I did last time, but I definitely still have my bad days and especially evenings when I strap this thing on. Also an important feature - it's easy to take off for one of the many many pregnancy trips to the bathroom each day. With SPD, it's painful to step in and out of things and that bothered my with my other hip brace. However, this one goes off and on easily which is essential for SPD!A note about sizing: my hips are pretty right on 44". I fit at the very end of this brace. I was worried that as pregnancy progressed, that my hips would grow even larger so for about a week I had the standard and plus size. I found that the plus size didn't cinch up small enough to give the support I needed, so I kept the standard and sent back the plus size. Symphysis LLC was great to work with on processing my return! And I am happy to report that many weeks after my initial purchase, it still fits and I haven't outgrown it. I absolutely would not go through an SPD pregnancy without an excellent brace, and this fits the bill.

Did not work for me
Didn't work for me at all. Still in pain. And it makes it a lot harder to move, bend over etc. It wasn't worth the money but I have had severe symphysis pubis diastasis after my first son was born and this pregnancy it has been bothering me since the second trimester so I was desperate. I have tried everything from chiropractor, accupuncture, multiple belts my doctor "recommended" and the only thing that helped somewhat with the pain was a simple cheap abdominal binder I got for free from the maternity unit. I am currently in my third trimester and use it on those days I can barely move or walk from the pain and I am a nurse working 12 hour shifts. This belt doesn't offer nearly enough support if you have a separated symphysis.

I also LOVE that this product isn't full of straps and it's ...
This product works, simply put. The compression against your hips basically helps hold your separated pelvis together. I have been dealing with severe SPD since I was about 20 weeks while chasing a toddler around, and now at 29 weeks I feel way more functional when I wear this belt. I also LOVE that this product isn't full of straps and it's simple to figure out. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because there isn't a realistic way to wear it while you're sleeping, which is when I have a lot of pain (flipping from side to side is agony). Also, if you don't wear it all the time, pelvic pain comes back quickly.

Huge pain relief!!
I'm 5 months along with my second baby and my SPD has already started flaring up. I tried a different type of support belt that wore out after the 6-8 weeks of use during my first pregnancy and this belt had great reviews on some other websites. I was skeptical by how quickly I would find relief but as soon as it came in I put it on to give it a try. As soon as I had it on I noticed a huge difference! I've been wearing the belt for several days only during the day but it has made a big difference.I no longer waddle with pain and the pain I do experience stays in check in the evening after I take it off. There is still a little discomfort if the band shifts around while sitting but nothing compared to the pain I felt without this. I have found that the belt can shift a bit upwards while sitting at work but I either fix it in the restroom or push it down at my desk so it's sits low around my pelvis.I would absolutely recommend this to anyone with SPD to help relieve pain. I'm already so happy I got this!

Avoid for 40"+ hips
Very sturdy. Unfortunately I returned it because although it says to 44", I have 42" hips and it was hanging on the verge of not fitting. There's rough velcro that faces inwards if you're on the edge. I would not try this if you are 40"+ unless you like velcro to snag on yoir clothing or be up against your skin.
