A New Wave Classic.
There are a precious few albums that I can say I must have listened to about a hundred times. I initially purchased a cassette version of this album back in '85 when it was released and, well, I have since warped my copy. It is a relief to finally have the opportunity to obtain this '80s New Wave classic without having to fork over forty dollars or more for the import version. "Here's to Future Days" is the last great album from the Thompson Twins before the band fractured and became a duo instead of a trio. Their previous effort, "Into the Gap", was their huge commercial breakthrough release that rode on the wave of their most popular single "Hold Me Now". But the album I listened to more than any other was "Here's to Future Days" which had a couple of hit songs, "Lay Your Hands on Me" and "King For a Day", a fantastic cover version of the Beatles "Revolution" and a collection of other songs that range from fun ("Love is the Law", "Tokyo") to kinetic and energetic ("Don't Mess With Doctor Dream", "Breakaway") to soulful ballads ("Emperor's Clothes (part1)", "You Killed the Clown") to innovative and creative ("Roll Over", "Future Days"). Only the very casual fan should pass up "Here's to Future Days" and pick up the greatest hits collection, the rest of us should rejoice in the fact this album is now available, from merchants at least, for a moderate price.

My favorite Thompson Twin cd !
Most people say their favorite is Into the Gap-which is the most popular and was their best worldwide seller-but this is the one where I fell in love with the group. The only song that I do not like on this cd is the remake of Revolution-which they perform with Madonna at the Live Aid 85 concert(now that is something that you will never see again-I bought that DVD to have this performance mainly). My 3 favorites are non singles-Toyko, Love is the Law and You Killed the clown. I have this album(yes I still have this! LOL) in my basement and was very excited to see this 2 cd collection, remixs and b-sides so I snatched it up. Whoever got this together did a great job. Sometimes these collections are sparce but not this one. Several of the remixes and Bsides I never heard of.I wish they would do Close to the Bone, Big Trash and Queer 2 cd collections but I doubt that will happen. They dont do retro tours which bothers me-there are so many fans that would love to see them again. There music touched my life in so many ways. I seen them twice in the 80's-glad I did they left a lasting impression.Great group-would love to hear new music from them!

Forever a Twin
This CD is in my 80's Time Capsule. It catapulted them into worldwide popularity and was at the peak of their career. I saw them 3 times when they played the Bay Area on this tour. One in a theater, a year later in an Arena.Tat's how big they became in 1 year. My favorite thing about the Thompson Twins and this CD is it takes you from upbeat to thinking to some sorrow. The most overlooked song in their career is on this CD. "Tokyo". No way to describe it except to listen to it. An upbeat song with a mix of asian percusion and cool guitar break. Their whole sound is unique. Can't compare them to anyone and this CD proves it. No song songs the same. From theupbeat "King For Just One Day" to the sorrow of "You Killed The Clown" and the major hit "Lay Your Hands On Me" you will find yourself singing along in an retro 80's neon time capsule. This eition is 2 CD's with B-sides and 12" mixes(even from the cassettes). Great re-packaging and reissue from Edsel Records. This is an import ordered from amazon.co.uk at a very great price!

What do you write for one of your favorite bands.
What do you write for one of your favorite bands...and one of their better albums...in one COOL ASS COLOR. Love this. Thanks to whoever took the risk to sign off on having these produced. Still surprised at how well Amazon ships records. I've had dozens shipped without issue so far. I am truly in awe over this Amazon...well done.

Great music if you can get past the hair!
No matter how much of a hardcore rocker you are, you change up your music occasionally. I had Zeppelin, Hendrix and Doors but I occasionally found the need for Cat Stevens and Pentangle. The Thompson Twins came out during the British New Wave with Flock of Seagulls and had the same idiotic hair dressers. But the album "Here's to Future Days" is more Rock and Roll than one would expect. Nile Rogers produced the album with rock sensibilities and brought Billy Idol's guitarist, Steve Stevens into the mix. The songs are solid, catchy, well played and consistent throughout. The album is worth a listen.

Five Stars
I listened to this album all the time in high school. It came out around the time I was a sophomore and I still love it. It's a classic. I forgot how good it was until I bought the CD and listened to it. The hits that came from this album are great, but so are the rest of the songs.

Brilliant !
Great pop addition to any vinyl collection and probably the TTS best, production is clear and dynamic without being too trebly... fav tracks Tokyo, Breakaway and Title track. Part of the album was finished by Nile Rodgers from Chic fame. Tom Bailey suffered with exhaustion during the making of the album although you wouldn’t be able tell. Definitely a must for any 80’s fan .

Color of vinyl
The vinyl is not purple as shown in the ad. It's more like the picture I have attached. The one star is based on wrong color of vinyl. The music is superb :-)

Buy It
If you're a Thompson Twins fan, then you'd agree that HTFD is an essential TT album let alone an essential 80s collection. Edsel has done a wonderful job in remastering and gathering all the singles along with various remixes,b-sides etc.
