Newlec NLF70SONP 70 Watt Sodium Floodlight Fitting with Photocell Dusk to Dawn

This unit was bought to replace a similar unit that had lasted 16 years but finally needed replacement.On opening the box, I was impressed by the design and built quality of the Newlec unit - even the mounting bracket is sturdy and designed for easy installation.The high quality Philips lamp and polished reflector, mean this light is slightly brighter and has a more even light spread than the one it replaced.It’s so pleasing to find a product (at a competitive price) that’s designed and made in Britain. So I have no hesitation in recommending it to other prospective purchasers.

Ordered to replace existing Sodium light unit which gave up after 6 years.Cheaper to replace whole unit than to buy ballast etc.Used as external security light on front of Domestic premise to illuminate front of house,garden,detached garages and driveway.Better than a white flood light.

Bought this ages ago to replace an old one. Didn't realise it had the dusk to dawn function which is really great and works really well. We live is a remote location and used to have to switch the old one on if we knew we wouldn't be back before dark and the sometimes used to forget to switch it off in the morning. No more, this is great and gives out a great light. Would recommend.

Nice quality light fitting but turned up with a broken lamp so a tad disappointed

My light was fitted 4 days ago and it's been constantly on - not dawn til dusk - there were no instructions with the light - should this work automatically or is it faulty ?

Replaced an equivalent different branded light which lasted 10 years give or take and this considering it is the same spec 70 watt bulb and size etc is fantastic. It lights up my back garden 3 times as much as the old one. I will wait until my other one blobs at the side of the house and get another one of these. Bargain.

Have had one of these for a year myself and it is very reliable and trustworthy so bought these as a gift for a friend who has recently being burgled
