The Art of Calligraphy Kit with Supplies, Instruction Book and Storage Box

I not only counted to ten but waited a few days before writing this as the profanity I would have used would have made a Marine blush. I was embarrassed when my granddaughter opened it. The nibs were lousy: so weak they bent while trying to write, didn't hold ink well--would blot as soon as they touched paper and held ink only for a letter tor two. I bought a $15 parcel of calligraphy paper for her as well so don't let the purveyor of this farce blame the paper. In 5th grade I took penmanship with a steel nib pen and inkwell (yes, somebody got her braids in an inkwell-tho' not by me) The brush wasn't much better. My wife and lived in Japan for a number of years and she, of course, took sumi-e classes, so we know what oriental calligraphy should be, even of we're not at all proficient ourselves. Such a brush should snap to a point to dry when cleaned, this one didn't. We have a dozen or more very inexpensive ones a home that are quite acceptable, not this piece of junk. I will assemble a kit for her out of found bits that will cost half as much. Garbage!

Would have been nice, but arrived opened with no instruction book

The book, the ink, everything is so useful and cool. I bought it just for fun. But everyone can enjoy it

Bought for my daughter, and she loved it. The book gave great instructions, and it came with plenty of supplies.

Bought this for one of my grand daughters, it was on her "really want" Christmas List. Upon her opening the box she was elated. I was not happy as it was missing one of the nibs and the "barrel" of the pen part was rusted where the nibs were supposed to be secured while in use. I would have been better off going to an art supply store and buying her a professional set.
