beautiful story about the kawthar
“The Prophet’s Pond” by Zaheer Khatri and published by learningroots is another perfect children’s story about the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Ages 4 and up can easily understand it and will enjoy the fun rhythm and rhyme that the story is written in. I love how it is the son that is telling his mother about the pond that he wanted to go to and the person that he wanted to meet; the kids loved seeing the kid teaching his mom😅I also like that the story was made in the form of a fun riddle; it kept the kids engaged and waiting to see what the answer was at the end.By the end of this story, I was yearning to meet the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) at his pond, (alkawthar), and my kids had learned a lot about it. It reinforced to them that if they love the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and follow his sunnah, that insha Allah they will be blessed with visiting this “pond” in Jannah. Such a perfect book for increasing our children’s love for the beloved Prophet (pbuh). The hadith that this story is based on:From `Abdillaah ibn `Amr(ra), who said, “The Prophet (pbuh) said:‘My lake is a wide as a month’s journey, its water is whiter than milk and its smell is better than musk, and its drinking vessels are like the stars in the sky; whoever drinks from it will never ever become thirsty.’”Bukhari 6579

Too good to be true
It's hard Not to cry every time i read this Wonderful book. From the quality of the beautifully illustrated images to the WAY the story is being narrated...it's SO EXCEPTIONALLY WONDERFUL. Really. We have very Poor quality illustrated children,s books in the muslim world. We have those that Dumb our kids down by being condescending and we have those books that narrate stories with a Rigid Myopic mindset teaching children only to Fear ALLAH instead of LOVING Allah and His Prophet SAW. The only other books that I will recommend would be the Al Ghazzali Childrens series and some wonderful books coming out of turkey like lore of the light (hajjah amina khatun) and stories of the prophets that are not on amazon. This book is a keeper. A great Gift, a treasure. Im glad I found it.

Magical illustrations, inspires love of RasulAllah (s)
This is by far the most beautiful Islamic children's book I have come across. The illustrations are magical and the story will inspire love for RasulAllah (s) in little Muslims. I love that reference is provided at the end also. Must have for any Muslim children's library.

Very disappointed with Learning Roots
I used to be able to rely on Learning Roots to provide Islaamic material with no images...i recently bought another copy of this book for my younger children since our original copy got damaged...I am HUGELY disappointed that they have now included faces in this otherwise beautiful story, and am curious as to why they now felt it necessary...i would have never paid for this new version and won't purchase anymore products.***Original review from 2016***Masha'Allah this is such a beautifully written and illustrated story!I enjoyed the story as much, if not more than, my children... It teaches children the description of al-kauther while taking them on a colorful journey... This book is another proof that there can be fascinating books without having faces drawn...a mother and her son are on a journey to find the special pond of rasulullah salallahu alayhi wa salam...Two hadith are referenced at the end, thus helpful in memorizing them...I don't want to include too much as I don't want to spoil it for you!

The best Islamic children's book I've ever read
Honestly the most beautiful Islamic children's book I've come across. I really had to fight back my own tears whilst reading this to my children.Absolutely stunning art work, excellently written, with a clear storyline that doesn't focus on the specifics, but rather mentions authentic narrations as part and parcel of the story.Stunning! Make God reward the author, illustrator and publisher.

Stunningly conveyed
Absolutely beautiful, from illustration to the narration! The hadith is incorporated into the story in such a heart touching way and it's presented in such a memorable way, for children and adults alike. Also loved the rhyming structure embedded into the story!
