A bit dated but still a must have
The book is a bit dated, there are many developments and new discoveries since the publication. Still, it is the most comprehensive and well laid out book out there and if you are going to raise dwarf cichlids I would consider it a must have for the shelf.

Nice book!
Excellent source of info on Dwarf Cichlids. Better than any I have bought or read before. Great images too and perfect binding, quality book!

Excellent reference
The book is entitled American Cichlids I - Dwarf Cichlids. You won't find any African cichlids here, but you will find an in-depth useable reference for Apistos, the various dwarf acaras and checkerboard cichlids, etc. Much easier to read than the Mayland & Bork book, although that one is slightly newer and covers more Apistos, more in depth.

No common names
Good general resource. Minus one star because only scientific names are used. Would be nice to have common names as well.

A good Cichlid guide
This book beautfully outlines the care that dwarf cichlids require. Many species are thoroughly described and there are lots of photos in color. A very useful book!

care & characteristics of dwarf American cichlids
Best book I have found on the dwarf American cichlids. Habitat, aquarium care, species ID. Covers a large number of species and helps determine the ID of similar species.

Lovely book
Lovely book, very interesting and I recommend if you are keeping any of the dwarf cichlids from South America. It's a bit out of date now in regards to the species covered, but otherwise informative and well worth buying
