Life as a Samurai: An Interactive History Adventure (You Choose: Warriors) Paperback – August 1, 2010

I bought two books from this series about two years ago when my son was in 2nd grade because I wanted to encourage his interest in reading for fun while also giving him a chance to learn about the history & background of the period of time he was reading about. I really liked that the books were interactive and gave the reader a chance to experience the time period from different people's perspectives, and that you could read the book all the way through as you would a novel, or you could choose a particular path and just read about one person's perspective and life. In addition to this book, my son has also enjoyed the books on Greece and Egypt and about the lives of knights and ninjas. He really likes reading, so I didn't have to persuade him to read these books, but I think children who like history would enjoy this series, as well as children who like a little action and adventure.

I buy this series for my 8 year old and he loved this book too. He loves seeing where his choices take him.

I like this book a lot because of the detailed information it provides about the Samurai. Been an interactive book is big plus. Very useful for a college assignment I had to do recently.

I offered this book to my students to read. They did not seem to take to it as much as I hoped they would.
