Works well
This stuff works pretty well. I need to get under there and coat my car again. It held up quite well for the winter months and should work well to keep my car from becoming a typical midwest salt bucket.Plan to use it on my truck as well once I can get it in the air. I applied it to the car in the winter, I would much prefer to get it applied in the summer to aide in the creeping action of the oil.

Interesing stuff
I got this for our WI winters and salt-- the rust is eating my truck. I tried undercoats/rust "reformers" etc, and it all didn't work. Figured I would give this a shot. I bought a sprayer online (amazon) and used it to apply. it sprayed on just like the videos on their site. It says it will "creep" to cover more surface area--will see. I picked a sprayer with a "remote" sprayer--one with a 2 quart container, with hoses that run to the sprayer handset--this works GREAT because if you have a regular sprayer, with container attached, it will suck air as you tip/tilt to try to get all the spots under your vehicle. I was really surprised that it actually sprayed thru this paint sprayer because of how thick it is. If I had to describe it, I would say similar to consistency of those 5-gallon driveway sealers. As of now, I went on as described, and stuck on surfaces fine. When I sprayed the rusty areas, it immediately looked black/shiny. I am interdasted to see how it looks after a few days. I figured I would let it soak in and "creep" good before driving it. (its a spare beater truck anyway)I used 1 gallon on my S-10 x-cab. I think 1.5 gallons would have really covered everything. I will prob get another gallon to finish the spots I missed. Will see how it goes--if I have any updates I will post em! Am curious to how the "clear" stuff looks--guessing like a "wet" dark brown when sprayed on rust.Hints:-wear old clothes/tyvek and glasses and mask--mainly to keep yourself clean-regular paint spray gun worked for me-- did not need "undercoating" gun-do this somewhere outside/on gravel as the spray gets EVERYWHERE-- my floor (and other stuff) is a greasy mess.-not sure how I am going to clean this paint gun--prob will just bag it up and store it for the next undercoat job.-I got some on the exhaust--it smoked quite a bit--had some concern on its flammability (if any), but I did not have an issue other than smoke.

Giving it a try
I ordered back n black undercoating to do the frame of my 2013 truck because I like the idea of keeping the frame looking a clean black look. After receiving the clear undercoating (the wrong and less expensive product) from NHOU I looked into sending it back but noted that I couldn't just return it because it needed special shipping. I contacted amazon, then contacted NHOU through amazon. After 1.5 months I received the back in black product. I haven't sprayed the back in black product yet, but the clear sprayed very easily and I was happy with the coverage. The only other product I have used that is similiar is Fluid Film so I will compare it to that. The NHOU is much thinner or less viscous, which may not necessarily be a good thing. I'm not so sure it will stick as well as FF. The NHOU has a pleasant scent and smells better than fluid film. It does seem like a pretty harmless product as my dog managed to tear open the container and ate over a quart of it with only suffering from minor gastrointestinal problems for a couple days. See review of big dumb yellow male lab for more info on that.

Drips
Giving the product 3 stars for its intended purpose and time will tell how good it is, but would give it 0 stars due to excessive dripping. I had this professionally applied at a NHOU installer on my Ram pickup. was told may get slight dripping for a day or 2. So I parked my truck off my driveway to avoid and spots/stains for a week and drove a few hundred miles. Because of where I parked temporally I was not able to see the spots so I finally decided it would be ok to park in my driveway and now have literally hundreds of oil spots on my newly paved driveway. Tried Dawn, scrubbed and power washed with minimal results. Now will not need to have my driveway seal coated to cover all the stains. if your parking on dirt/gravel etc. than I'm sure you will be fine but if you have a paved, or paver driveway be warned. Also contacted NHOU and the answer was to drive on dirt roads to help with dripping. Not exactly the response I was expecting, don't live on a farm or near dirt roads. Safe to say I will not be applying this yearly as recommended.

smells like i drove through a fruit stand
i sprayed on fluid film for 2 yrs just dealing with the smell. a friend recommended this, so i gave the tinted black version a try, it’s a TINY bit thinner than fluid film but after a week or so of collecting dust/drying, looks just like fluid film (except more black cause of the tint) it smells much better, basically like a berry air freshener smell. but the smell only lasted 2 or so days. definitely buying again.
