This seed blend is the best for quick, sprouted feed for my chickens. Basically the easiest way to feed my flock & really economical when you break it down. I’ve Germination within 2 days. Seed size is huge! Always a reliable source of fodder. I’ve tried other brands on Amazon and they’re just not worth it.Thanks!

Incredibly fast germination - within 48 hours - not to mention rapid growth rate. From seeding to feeding, about 10-14 days, depending on current temperatures. Plus the ladies go crazy every time I show up with a newly grown batch for them. Can't wait to get a grazing frame set up for them next spring so they have more consistent access to these great greens.

I love this forage mix and would buy again!I have a small flock of backyard chickens in my urban home. I wanted to give them food options besides bagged feed and these are great!They sprouted well and my chickens enjoyed the sprouts as baby chicks. Then I planted them in our yard. Despite my poor soil quality, the seeds germinated and grew hardily.The wild peas in particular grew so well that I made a makeshift trellis/tent for them to climb. While smaller than the peas in my vegetable garden, they were very sweet! Now my chickens have a shade, overhead protection and snacks! They love the forage and (mostly) leave my vegetable garden alone.My dogs also appreciate the occasional mouthful as well.

Simple enough to plant, once you get the idea the directions are NOT on the package. A bit disappointed, as I did not get the coverage they say, but then....maybe I have a heavy hand to spread. OK germination. Many different seeds come at many different times....Just OK for us as far as growth, but what did grow, the hens devoured overnight!!

It only takes a week after planting to be ready. I have two 3’ x 8’ sections in the chicken coop and while they’re scratching in one the other is growing. I just throw the seeds on the ground and gently cover them with about 1/2 inch of soil with a rake and turn on the water mister and water daily. It had been suggested to give them access when the forage is 4 to 5 inches high and close off their access when they eat it down and give the plants time to grow again. But my hens completely destroy it the first day and since what’s left will not grow again I just let them stay and enjoy. In about 3 or 4 days I close it back off and replant. It’s ready again in less than a week. In the meantime they are scratching in the other section.

Grows quickly and the chicks LOVE it. they would eat an entire flat each day if I let them. I started giving it to them when they were 2 weeks old. They now are 12 weeks and make a lot of noise if i do not give it too them.
