Has a lot of pieces smaller than one inch
It was pretty much as advertised, but there are a good number of pieces smaller than one inch, which was what I was trying to get away from. I have an outdoor fire pit, which is under a water oak tree. I needed to clean out all the small acorns, so I had to empty out the old lava rock. I threw away about 3/4 of a 5 gallon bucket of the small pieces, so next time it wouldn’t take as long. So it was somewhat disappointing for this to have pieces as small as what I threw away.

These Rocks Are Black-Not Gray Like Most Others
Perfect for my project. Very happy with the dark color, most others lava rocks with the description color of "black" are actually gray. I wanted black.

Not quite “black”
This was advertised as black lava rock but ended up being more dark gray mixed with black and a handful of red rocks that had to be removed. Previously I ordered black lava rock in ten pound bags from another supplier on Amazon and it was truly black but more expensive.
