This is an absolutely adorable fall coat for my 8 lb, female, Papillion/Chihuahua mix. I have already used it several times in light rain events and on chilly fall mornings. It does a good job of keeping my dog dry and keeping her from shivering during our early morning walks. She does not seem to be bothered by it at all and continues on her way and does her business without any indication that having it on is bothering her. I love the zipper compartment for threading thru the loop to her harness. I bought a small size even though the charts indicated an extra small for her because we do use a sturdy harness (which she cannot escape from when chasing the smaller wildlife around) and expected it to be a little big. It fits her perfectly with her harness on with the exception of the back strap. I will have to have this shortened in the future to ensure a snug fit as the Velcro gets worn. I have already washed it and noted no damage from having done so and expect durability to be good. This coat would be too heavy for the summer as it is lined with a fleecy material on the inside. It also dries quickly when it does get damp especially for the smaller dogs who are mere inches from the ground and tend to get the straps wet when walking about. Good price point for selection of colors and from a style factor.

Got a size small for my 7 lb yorkie. So glad I finally found a coat that covers his whole back. Just got it so haven't tried it out in the rain yet but think it will work well. It is a little big, but not big enough that it won't stay on. I am curious to see though if the bottom strap is in a position that will interfere with him doing his business. It looks like it might but haven't put it to the test yet. An extra small may have been a better option for that reason alone, but didn't want to go that small cause coats I've bought in the past never cover his whole back and being he hates the rain, my main goal was to get complete coverage in that area. I'll update this review once that issue is resolved. It is lightweight but fuzzy on the inside. Think it will be great for the rain. Hopefully my little guy will be more willing to go out in the rain once he sees this coat is keeping him dry!

I ordered this for the cool days in Florida because my dog, a rescue, had been badly matted so they had to trim him very close to the skin. Two days after I received it, we had a cold snap and it went down to the low 50’s. For those of you in the North, this doesn’t sound cold but it is for us wimpy Floridians. The vest is well made and easy to get on and off. I’d love to have one just like it without the furry lining for summer rainy days. I like the Velcro belly band and neck closure. The dog likes it too.

XS actually almost fits, little big on my 4.5lb Biewer terrier. Feels soft. Appears waterproof, haven't tried yet but was disappointed that there is NO opening to connect a harness. May also fit my Chihuahua

I'm very happy with this jacket (rain, or chilly).My dog is only 5 lbs. and this jacket/coat fit him very well. He was not a happy camper when I first put it on him, but after taking him for a rather long walk he adjusted to it.I did try the tail loop, but he was able to get his tail out of it pretty easily. But he's little dog and has lots of energy.I also like the color (black) we bought for him. I would order this item again if need be.

I didn't realize that this was a winter rain jacket when I got it. I really only needed a lightweight rain jacket, but it's great quality for the price. I have a Maltipoo, and the Small was perfect for her - she has short legs but has a fairly long body. I wasn't expecting it to be as nice as it is; it's fleece-lined and while I may not get that much use out of it in Florida, it's a nice jacket. It's also great because I use a harness on her (there is a little zipper that provides access to the harness; the harness goes on first, then the coat). I probably should have paid more attention to the description and gotten a summery jacket, but this is just too nice and too cute.

Love the Velcro and the reflectiveness. It’s light and my white German Shepherd doesn’t mind. However I bought the biggest size and it’s still too short for my dog. I can’t use the tail loop. Still gonna use it tho it’ll keep him mostly dry.Update: I’ve decided to buy a different one because my dog is too big for it. I do plan on getting more for my bf dogs theyre an Australian Shepherd fox hound mix. It fits them perfect.Advice for the belly strap if it does somewhat fit your dog is get the stick on Velcro at Walmart

This is the only coat that our rain averse dog wears willingly. It does not have a hood and while it seems water resistant, we're using it as a winter jacket more than a rain coat. The inside is a soft fleece, the harness opening is invaluable for city walks, and it's proven durable after several weeks of steady wear. I'm hoping to find other colors.
