I have an expensive Frigidaire NSF dishwasher that has never worked right. It has an over-sensitive backflow sensor and always gives errors during the cycle. Spent a lot of time messing around with the drain hose, and then found this little Gizmo. Turns out it fits perfectly into the end of the drain hose where it connects to my disposal. I just inserted it into the end of the drain hose, reconnected to the disposal, and tightened the hose clamp. No cutting, super easy. In fact I had this thing in a drawer for a year because I was loathe to cut my drain hose. Not necessary. I then went OCD and ran 6 cycles in a row with no errors. Hallelujah! I was ready to junk the dishwasher, and I will never buy another Frigidaire product. But this little thing made my appliance functional.

The drain hose on our Whirlpool dishwasher got plugged up and would not drain the water out completely. I refused to spend the money for a new hose with the built in check valve which DOES have to be in the system close to the pump to stop drain back into the machine, which is not sanitary and will not allow the sanitize feature to even work. I Installed this valve with braided vinyl 5/8” I’d hose and now everything works as it should. This is a very high quality valve and the smooth inside of the hose in place of the old corrugated hose will not retain dirty water build up which causes bacteria . Almost all manufacturer’s use this type of cheap hose knowing it will go bad way before the dishwasher fails.

I had a cockpit drain line backing up through my air conditioner condensation pan.Heck of a boat flood right onto the teak floors. No bueno.This works smoothly with a only a tiny bit of pressure. All the other check valves require so much pressure (2psi or more) so they would have just shut off the drain pan and it would have overflowed.And at $28 delivered they obviously know they are the only game in town!! Ouch! But hey it works perfect.Wish they would clean up the description since this obviously isn’t suitable for 3/4 with a heat gun and stretching.

I have a sump pump in my basement and a water softener and I am running them both out the basement on the same outlet line. I got one of these for each so they don;t back feed into each other, mstly so the water softener doesn't back feed into the sump. They work great.

Used for saltwater sump/ refugium return line. When you turn off power it doesn’t suck the contents of the tank out. About two years and do issues.

When I got this, it leaked water both ways. It would only seat/seal fully with a lot of back pressure (blowing hard). Upon further inspection there were quite a few little black plastic shavings surrounding the ball. Any of those in the right spot would prevent a tight seal. So I got rid of the shavings and coated the ball with silicone grease using a cotton swab. That did the trick! Seals tight now, but does need a little more pressure to break the seal.
