K-ON! High School (K-ON!, 5) Paperback – October 29, 2013

I was not expecting their to be a follow up to the K-on manga after I bought the omnibus. But a story following Azunyan, Jun, and Ui with new additions Sumire, and Nao. Really fun to see what happened to the club after the original group graduated. If you love K-on then you should get this.

I've always felt that K-ON!'s jokes were most successful in the high school setting. This volume is a fitting, bittersweet conclusion to Azusa's story arc. As president of the Light Music Club, Azusa recruits some new club members are even more unusual than her old band mates.We were already introduced to Ui and her best buddy, Jun. But then she discovers the new weirdos. There's Sumire, a former maid of Tsumugi who is trying to return the tea cabinet to her master. And there's Nao, a mysterious freshman nerd who can't really play anything, but she's great at managing the band. It's a fun, off-beat continuation of the series that proves that even a group of awkward misfits can have plenty of fun in a high school rock band.

I found that this is the best book to read at the end of the K-On series (since the books split between college and HS), leaving a solid conclusion to the series.There is a new spin off series though, I really hope it gets published in the USA because I would totally buy it.

Very nice to see a continuation after the anime. Had some great laughs in it as well. Very nice read.

Though 4/5 of HTT had moved on, I was glad to see that Azusa was able to recruit (with a little extra help, of course) some new band-mates to keep the Houkago tradition going strong. There is a year's worth of story squeezed into one volume, but not without good fresh material to keep any K-On fan entertained and satisfied.

Not too surprisingly, without four main characters from the original K-ON manga, Kakifly has something of an upward battle in making K-ON High School succeed. However, K-ON (and many Japanese manga) has been a very well done "ensemble" comic, and Kakifly continues to pull this off in K-ON High School. Kakifly adds two new characters who are quirkier than the original four, but thankfully not over-the-top like some high school comedies. My own favorite is the expanded role of Jun, whose relatively blunt exterior makes a nice contrast to the rest of the girls. I think the only drawback of the comic is that Kakifly only has one book to do one (?) year of the club *and* introduce two new characters *and* not repeat the same school events in the original series. As a result, I felt the ending happened a little too abrupt compared to the original series. I also recommend reading this comic *before* K-ON College. I felt K-ON College to be a more "organic" book and fun difference from the original high school series. K-ON High School is still a very well done and entertaining comic. I definitely recommend it!

I liked the story, the book came in really good conditions, but you should read the first 4 volumes to understand the story better.

Great epilog to K-On, it gives a superb ending to Azusa's time in high school while going more in depth with her friends that we have been introduced to in the series, AS well as introducing us to 2 characters that will take over the club once Azusa is in college.

If you like the K-On! anime, you may like the manga as well. Not a very long series to collect to boot!

Le manga a bien été livré, malheureusement elle est sous forme de livre standard, c'est à dire qu'il n'y a pas la couverture qu'on peut retrouver dans d'autres mangas traditionnelle avec les vignettes qui servent de marque-page.Le plus malheureux peut-être pour vous, c'est qu'il soit en anglais ^^ mais ce serait donc une occasion pour vous d'améliorer votre niveau.L'histoire se passe uniquement avec notre petite Azu-nya qui recherche ses membres sans l'aide de nos 4 héroïnes.D'autres événements majeur arriveront, mais je vous laisserai le lire :)

Carries on in the same old style, but now with the band having moved on. Would love to see more but I suspect this is now it.

It didnt meet the expectation of a satisfactory end to k-on, however it was fairly enjoyable.
