These blow the others away! - Best steamed
I like these beans as they have a good flavour. I usually quick soak, cover well with water bring to the boil then leave for an hour. I cook these haricot beans several ways, in a slow cooker for hours and for ten minutes in a pressure cooker. However, they can crumble so the best way to cook them is to steam them for about an hour then add a tube of tomato puree. I eat them as a dish on their own or for adding beans to other recipes. Once you cook your own beans you realise just how much salt and sugar is added to those that come out of a tin. For that reason, if you expect these to taste the same you are going to be disappointed for all the right reasons.

Beans take a long time to soften. The amount of energy you use cooking them you will find it cheaper to buy the beans in tins.

The beans I got seem pretty old, there's 6 months on the best before but they don't cook through properly and more than a few had split open after the soak.
