DeoxIT helps bring old systems back to life! DeoxIT is a contact cleaner, conductivity enhancer, and lubricant. It dissolves oxidation and corrosion on metal surfaces, fills in microscopic gaps, and reseals surface for better contact to enhance the flow of electricity. It rejuvenates electrical equipment by improving connector performance and reliability. This excellent cleaner and deoxidizing agent helps protect your electronics equipment, yet does not contribute towards ozone depletion.

Review: Cleans electrical contacts well - This is a small can of spray (see photo), but it's what it does that counts. I bought it for cleaning the ends of guitar cables and the sockets on guitars and amplifiers. It made crackly sounding connections into quiet connections. I was amazed at how a very small squirt of this stuff onto the end of a guitar lead could get rid of annoying crackle. I now use it on lots of jack / socket type connections. It's only a small can and it is very expensive, but the thing that counts is that it works very effectively and as I only need a very small amount on the connection, it'll last for ages. I'd definitely buy this again.

**Q: 1. can i use deoxit on a cpu slot? 2. can i use deoxit on the cpu itself? 3. can i use deoxit on a cpu fan?**
A: #1.  Yes, insert and remove several times to remove any oxidation.  #2.  On a cpu, soak in 90+% isopropyl alcohol for 30 minutes.  Then use an acid brush to clean.  Dry throughly.  #3.  Fans should be cleaned with compressed air, don't let the rotor spin up real fast during this process.  Don't put any oil or water in a fan to clean it.   Originally deoxit was developed to recondition potentiometers and switches.  For that application it is hands down the best you can get.

**Q: Can this be used on pc expansion/memory slots? Thanks**
A: Yes, you can use this anywhere you have electrical contact surfaces.
Spray some Deoxit into the female slot, and gently insert and remove the memory card several times to clean the contacts. That should do it.
If the contact surfaces are exceptionally dull, or corroded, then you can try this old trick to clean them up:
Use the eraser of a No.2 pencil to get the contacts to shine again. DO NOT use an ink eraser! That would be too abrasive. Gently rub the contacts with the pencil eraser until they clean up, then blow any debris out with compressed air, and follow the method described above with the Deoxit. That should do it.

**Q: Is this the l-m-h can with the red detachable straw or is this the new version with the permanently attached straw?  thx.**
A: It has the attached straw. Not as handy as the older version.

**Q: Is this product safe for plastics? i intend to clean pots on a ‘62 fender twin reverb guitar amplifier, as well as a ‘83 nad stereo receiver**
A: I had no problems with it on plastics, I also didn’t have a 62 twin at stake. I would send you a photo of the label we’re it not 200 miles from me currently
