NOt just for pizza excellent quality and customer service from Fireland.
This may be a bit pong winded but when you are about to spend this amount of money on an item I thought a comprehensive review would assist.Firstly let me compliment Fireland on their service and help having spoken to them a couple of time before ordering to check dimensions and other minor points. I placed my order, they say they will contact you direct to arrange a delivery but having placed my order on a Sunday afternoon I rang them on the Monday morning. They could not have been more helpful they arranged delivery for that Thursday and it duly arrived on time as statedNow comes the fun part. This is a heavy item weighing in at some 250KG and it arrives on a pallet which is transported on a pallet truck which can move over flat ground not gravel will not negotiate slopes and needs clear access. So having checked the size of the pallet at 112cm x112cm I already knew that it would not go through the gate or move anywhere further than the driveway which is where the kind man put it.4 Men including myself then dismantled the pallet and attached ropes to the 4 very sturdy metal rings on the corners and lifted it to it new location, carrying it with two scaffold poles through the loops and carrying like a sedan chair. With the assistance of a strategically placed sloping ladder moved it onto it pre prepared stand.. Trying to lift it to a height of a standard worktop would have been very difficult without the ladder. Now in place assembly of the chimney and smoke hood and door is a doddle tales seconds. Now the fun part lighting and proving. There are good easy to follow instructions with the oven and it is well worth taking your time to prove it properly to ensures longevity and keeping it in good condition. 120c then 175c then 250c each temperature retained for 8 hours and then again the next two days for the other temperatures. Be prepared to spend time doing this and buy a laser thermometer to help or you will never control the fire especially the lower temperatures.. Three days later and 24 hours attending the oven religiously we were all set to fire it up for real and cook. It was brilliant goit the oven really hot and Pizzas cooked in seconds push the fire to one side when up to temperature and keep turning the pizzas as they will cook really quickly. Pizzas done what to do with all that heat, answer make bread the oven was hot enough for several hours after pizzas long gone and the bread was great but check temperature before you put it in as it remains high for a long time till the fire dies down. One real advantage we went to a local garden centre where they were selling some ovens and every one was so hot on the outside that you could easily burn yourself. This one is great the outside cork cover gets warm yes but even when at full temperature was only warm brilliant addition that is especially helpful if kids are around . So would I recommend this item YES most certainly. Is it good value for money at about £900 including delivery depends on what use you get from it but at that price you need to make sure you will use it a lot. Is the product good yes it is well made and robust looks really nice and you get the stainless steel door and chimney which in many is a lot extra far more than the cost of the delivery. Finally Fireland are a new company to Amazon but if they continue to deliver quality and service as they have to me then they will do very well.
