I was nervous buying this (concerned about size, how well it'd work, if it'd crap out on me, etc). I took the plunge though, and I think this is one of the best purchases I've ever made! It was the perfect size for hotpot for 2 (could probably do 3 as well). I got it to surprise my fiancé with hotpot at home for his birthday since we can't go out because of the stay at home orders. He was thrilled and thought this was perfect. The 3 heating levels were perfect for adjusting the temperature of our broth. The only mild complaint is that the cord is pretty short (maybe 3 feet?) so you need to have your set up very close to an outlet or be prepared with an extension cord. It heated up quickly and was bubbling away by the time I brought all the fixings to the table. I would definitely recommend this for any couples who wish to do hotpot at home!

The hot pot heats up fast and works well. I had a problem using it three times and then it stopped working. The seller was very helpful. After I reported the problem, they sent me a replacement within a week and the new pot works just fine. Really impressed with their attentive customer service.

We have used this so many times and absolutely love it. We used to go out but when we discovered we can do this from the comfort of our home, we had to buy us one. Perfect size for our family of 5. We may buy another one just so we can have a mild and a hot broth going at the same time. Great price too!

I had been looking for this hotpot style for quite awhile and bought 2 of this hotpot for the holidays and it worked good but both broke after a few uses within a month. So just in time for the return/refund! Amazon asked for review to help others so here it is since looks it is still selling on Amazon.Pros: Good idea and design for convenient individual hotpot/shabu during the winter. Good size stainless hotpot with separate fast heating baseCons: Thin stainless steel pot. The groove of the heating base is shallow and barely securing the pot The heating dial can be turned 360 degree and doesn't have marking pointing to H-L temperature. I can only tell the on/off by the red light Didn't notice the auto shutoff function while water was boiling vigorously Now the bad part: The temperature dial just stopped working one day for one heating base and the other base's temperature knob just got stuck and couldn't be turned L or R and then came off with some red glue..... ??!!This is a low quality hotpot or you can try your luck on getting a good working one. I will look again and pay more for quality and reliability next!

Size can be an important factor when choosing a pot for shabu shabu. A lot of pots are a lot bigger. The heating element is not attached to the pot, which makes it safer and more convenient. The stainless steel looks very clean.

Great for hotpot for two persons.

Purchased the 1.8L Electric Hot Pot with Separate SS Pot. So far so good. It's relatively lightweight which makes it a good work/travel option, though not something I would put in luggage. The separate steel pot makes it easy to clean. The base of the pot is not thick, but in conjunction with the burner it means a quick boil.The only negatives so far are that there are only 3 heat settings, which makes things a little tricky ar times. The thin pot also means you have to stir constantly if on the mid and high heat setting or risk burning contents.
