South Park: The Complete Seventeenth Season

Dropping down to 10 episodes a season prevents me from giving this one more than 4 stars. There just aren't quite as many laughs as there could be.

South Park is hands down one of my all-time favorite shows and I own every season. I usually buy them as soon as a season is released. This season, like I have found with all other seasons of South Park over the last few years, has it's good episodes and it's 'meh just okay' episodes. All in all it was a good season though.I loved that they did another trilogy and those 3 episodes are by far the best and worth the $20 for this season (Black Friday, A Song of Ass and Fire, and Titties and Dragons). This was obviously a great way to also promote their new video game The Stick of Truth (which is also AMAZING and any South Park fan should pick it up) as it was released shortly after this season and follows the same theme. There were also a couple other episodes that were good and worth watching. It almost feels like are slightly losing their touch with this show however. It doesn't have the same oomph that it used to. It is still extremely amusing but over the last couple of years the seasons haven't been continuously laugh out loud funny with every episode. Still like I said it has enough episodes that are funny that make it worth the $20. My personal favorites are Black Friday, A Song of Ass and Fire, Titties and Dragons, The Hobbit, Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Poser, and Informative Murder Porn. This is also the first season with their newly designed beginning.I'm seriously bummed out that they have now cut the show from their original 14 episodes down to only 10 per season (starting with season 17). But maybe it's a good thing with the way these seasons have been over the last few years. I really feel like after season 14 things got a touch stale and it wasn't the same South Park we had grown to love. Even though each season has it's episodes that make it worth it they just don't seem to be the same (this is all just my personal opinion). I am a true South Park fan and no matter what I will continue to watch the show and buy the seasons. I just really hope that maybe now that they have cut the season down from 14 to 10 episodes they will feel a little less pressure (cause we all know they have a lot going on these days) and will be able to put their all back into making amazingly, laugh your face off funny episodes.

South Park is one of my most favorite shows! It was one that pushed everyone’s buttons and touched on several issues throughout the years and fast became in pace with the Simpsons. Trey Parker and Matt Stone created such an incredible series that I own every season that’s out so far. This adult themed animation series is worth every penny to snag complete seasons from Amazon even if you buy for streaming purposes. My reviews for every season I have purchased from Amazon will be the same. I’m including images from each seasons disc as the differences

First of all, this is the first season on DVD since South Park has changed to "normal" shorter seasons, and so there are only about 2/3 the amount of episodes as seasons past; however, it is at least 2/3 the cost.It's obvious that South Park has changed a bit over the years, for better or worse. I still love the show though. The creators sense of humor has always been able to hit my funny bone just right. And this season is no different.Yes, Season 17 has the memorable Black Friday trilogy, which is an homage to Game of Thrones. And that trilogy is great, but there's still some other really funny moments in all the other episodes. Like Ike (Kyle's little Canadian brother) wanting to "Tame Foofa's strange" (one of the characters from the kids show Yo Gabba Gabba). It's so off that you can't help but laugh.

as much as a big south park fan that i am, even though i haven't sat down and watched the entire season in a marathon since season 12, this season had it's fair share highlights"The Black Friday Trilogy" was the biggest highlight of this season even though i think Paramount or Comedy Central should release it as a full movie just like what happened with the "Imaginationland" trilogy that happened in season 11.i don't understand why it only had 10 episodes in the season, but i don't think it was fair to the fans or to Comedy Central knowing that the creators had 10 months to work on this season and to release season 16 on dvd and blu-ray.i think that this is the best season since they started to allow the show to become fully 'uncensored'.

For me, season 17 of South Park is the best set of episodes since season 11. Though S17 is only 10 episodes, it is still packed with great stories and many funny moments. "Informative Murder Porn", "Goth Kids", and of course the Black Friday trilogy are my favorites of this season. In fact, "Black Friday", "A Song of Ass and Fire", and "Titties and Dragons" are easily among my all-time favorite SP episodes. So AWESOME and EPIC in every way!! Forget about Bigfoot, UFO's, or the Loch Ness Monster!! How Bob's Burgers won the emmy this year over South Park is one of the greatest mysteries of all-time!!Again, if you are a die-hard South Park fan like me, Season 17 is a very worthwhile purchase!!

South Park is one of the best shows on TV, but this season was kind of bland. Don't get me wrong, it had a lot of funny moments, but having the Black Friday trilogy and only 10 episodes, I feel there was more potential. Understandably, Matt Stone and Trey Parker were busy the The Stick Of Truth game during this season, which in itself I believe is better than this season, but it just didn't have the kick, the longevity that previous seasons have had.

After 17 seasons it still makes me laugh hard. It's a shorter number of episodes than previous seasons, but in my opinion the quality of the episodes are higher than in some previous seasons too. I especially enjoyed the Game of thrones parody episodes (as eluded to on the box cover), done in the same kind of way as the 'Imagionation land' & 'Coon and friends' episodes in the past. Not important, but there is even the set up a for the 'Stick of Truth' video game, which was very funny to me. There are so many funny moments but I won't post any spoilers, so although this is a short, vague review, I would highly recommend viewing this season. Worth every last penny!

Another amazing series of south park, there is sadly only 10 episodes though, but what a great 10 episodes they are, its worth getting just for the final 3 part black Friday game of thrones spoof which is brilliant, this series always stays current now as to keep it original, its great the way this series has grown more over the years, this is an absolute must have series for any fan, unfortunately though after 16 box sets all the same size and 3 discs, this one looks a little odd as its 2 discs and in a slimmer box than usual, there are a few features like commentary's but not much.

Arrived in great condition - long timeFan of southpark! And love having the complete set on my bookcase. Price was abit high but then again it was brand new and also had just been released not long ago so its expected! Possibly going for cheaper now then from when I bought it

The first half of the season is shaky but the second half is a must for all. The Game of Thrones pastiche is sublime and would appeal to both fans of South Park and those of GoT. I continue to collect these and admire the immense work the South Park team put into making a weekly topical animated show. Bring on the next release!

What can I say about South Park? It's just brilliant! Definitely one of the best animated comedies out there today, and this Season is just full of great episodes including the three part Game of Thrones parody.Just a side note though, the slip cover that comes with the DVD is far too small and the DVD does not come out easy. Unfortunately my slip cover tore when trying to remove the DVD, so just be careful with it guys.
