GUY COTTEN Sowester Hat, Aquastar, Traditional Style Sou'wester of Finistère

I bought this a year ago and have never really used it. Today, the second day of Storm Callum, I HAD to get the dogs out on their walks. I took the first dog out and just used the hood on my raincoat. It had to be tightened down because of the wind and so continually pushed my glasses down my nose so i couldn't breathe through it. Plus my face was dripping wet. By the time I gratefully got home, I was about to scream. So for the second dog, I put the sou'wester on and was ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED with how it worked. It kept the rain off my face and glasses and despite having that enormous brim, it did not budge in the strong winds. I did have the elastic band under my chin to keep it on but I could feel that it was not tugging on that. There's something in the design that just keeps it from taking flight.I do have to wear a knit cap under it because it's a bit large, but i actually like that.Totally recommend it. :)

Water resistant but not as water proof as the one I had years ago.Large means very big, I didn't bother to send back, just padded it out
