SEE UPDATE AT THE END OF THIS REVIEW!! I purchased this camera with expectations of a way to simply monitor the exterior of my cabin, which it served it’s purpose....for a while. I was able to monitor the cabin for about a week, before it lost connection and I could NOT remotely reconnect, so I had to wait until my next trip to the cabin to reconnect. While the initial set-up and connection went somewhat smoothly.....the reconnection attempt was more difficult...but I was able to get the camera working again. After about another week of mostly seamless issues (and able to monitor), I decided to order another camera. That is went the trouble seemed to start.The second camera arrived with a one antenna out of place (which I was able to snap back in)...but worse, I could not connect to the internet even after over an hour of trying.FYI- When you first do the set-up, the camera itself emits it’s own wi-fi signal, so you can connect via your device, (i.e., phone, ipad and etc.), and to also communicate with your router to then recieve that signal.The second camera would not emit that signal and therefore could not connect....(aka: Arrived Broken).Then, if that weren’t enough....I started having issues with the original camera, as in...it will not stay connected to my router for more than 30-seconds.So, I received a broken camera, which I was able to send back for a refund. But, the orignal camera is well past the refund timeframe, so I’m stuck with it.Although I REALLY wanted to like this camera...(to the point of buying a second one), I am actually very much disappointed.Therefore, I can not recommend this camera. In fact, if I were the type of person to slam a product, this would be the perfect product opportunity.UPDATE: Constant problems with the first camera that I purchased. EVERY TIME it loses signal or power, it will not (or) can not reconnect by itself. EVERY TIME, I have to wait until I go back to my cabin and then I can reset it manually, with the hopes that it will maintain connection. The longest it have went without an issue is about a week. This lastest issue was 4-days. In the photos, the first shows “offline” at 1:12. The second photo is me trying to reconnect at 1:12. The third photo shows “offline” at 1:13. This is all it does when it can not reconnect. Also notice the time of this last image. October 10, 2018 at around 5:00 am. I’m writing this review on October 13, at currently 1:21.IF I could give this camera ZERO stars, I would. I hate that I am writing such a negative review...but this camera is JUNK and the sellers have NOT made one attempt to contact me to resolve any issue, even with my initial review.It’s not always that you get what you pay for, because I have purchased many low cost/quality products on Amazon. However, this camera fits the quote exactly. BUYER BEWARE!

The camera is well made and feels a little heavier (in a good way) compare to ordinary nanny cams. The camera is waterproof so I am able to mount it outside to monitor my frontdoor entrace. There are power indicators that always on making the camera more noticeable especially at night. The pictures are clear even at night. I tested the motion detection alert and it works great.

Picture quality good in 1080p day time, fair to poor at night. When configuring Wifi follow the manual but do it with the camera, modem and iPhone within a foot of each other, check it out then install the camera. Motion detection was hard for me to get working but [email protected] was a great help. My application has lots of trees which move in the breeze and provide almost Constance motion so even with the motion detection set on the lowest setting you will record and be notified more then needed. I had trouble getting a sd card that worked. I recommend a SanDisk High Endurance microSDHC sd card formatted fat 32.When the sd card is full then the camera will keep recording ,and the new memory will automatically cover the previous record.

Installation is easy. I would give it 5 stars if there was no slight hiccup during an initial setup. Construction of the camera is not top of the line but fine overall. Unfortunately, this concludes my positive feedback.The mobile app's quality is very low and makes the camera almost useless. Sometimes it takes forever to connect to the camera. So it appears always offline. I was not even able to test night vision.My intent was to test the camera and add it to my existing NVR setup as an external IP camera where wired one cannot reach. But apparently even basic out of the box functionality is questionable. I'll spend a few more days troubleshooting it before returning it though.

This is not my first or only surveillance camera. I prefer to have multiple different surveillance camera around house just in case one system fails, some cross coverage and back up from others.Installation:1. It has 4 screws to stabilize it, but I think 2 is more than enough.2. Software download has no problem, fxn is relatively straight forward, but I had hard time to connect wireless through AP mode. So I took it down, connect to Ethernet first, then setup wireless while connect to ethernet, then unplug it. The wireless kicked in.Use:software is easy to use.Very nice while connect through ethenet. But slow while wireless. I am not sure if it is camera problem or my wireless system is slow.Motion dection:works great.Pic/video saving:it has Micro SD slot, can store up to 128 GB, but I don't have it now, so I did not try it yet.No cloud storage, well, C'est la vie.Generally speaking, I love this camera with nice picture quality. I did not use HD because I think the standard is good enough.

awesome camera, easy set up. If you have trouble connecting to wireless try starting the first step, connecting to router with a wire, with a wire of your own instead of the included one. This thing has amazing night vision. The app is easy to use and makes it possible to view clips and download what you need to your phone. Uses an sd card, no need for paid subscription. Also, I had a pleasant surprise at a critical point in surveillance of my farm stand. A theft occurred while my network was down. i almost cried, until I found that the sd card had stored the video anyway and I was able to retrieve it. Success!
