Fighting Lupus Battles, Hope for a CureForward by, Claudette BlackAfter reading this book by Kayrene Mimms, I became, for the first time, aware of what LUPUS is and all of the hidden symptoms and issues surrounding the illness. It gave me a heightened sense of the deadly effects of this disease. The mere fact that so many general physicians misdiagnose Lupus and treat their patients for other illness, is proof that early consultation with experts is essential when guessing is involved in the treatment of any illness. This book brought me closer to the understanding of the many falls and misleading symptoms of Lupus. It broadened my horizon and helped me in the understanding of many symptoms of Lupus and the grave and deadly mistakes in the prolong-ing the correct lupus diagnoses and early treatments. Lupus, if left untreated, can and will affect other major organs in the most destructive ways possible.I was enlightened and intrigued by the experiences of others that is afflicted by this disease. One of my friends passed away from Lupus which then, was just a word, but after reading Kayrene’s book, I now understand what she was going through. Lupus affected her kidneys to the point where she was on dialysis three days per week. We all watched while the disease ravaged her body very slowly. It was very sad.I am endorsing the aggressive research that is being done on Lupus and hope that researches can find a cure for this disease. I for one support this cause by participating in the annual walk for Lupus or donating to find a cure.

When I read Kayrene’s book, I have to admit that I knew absolutely nothing about Lupus. I had heard of the word Lupus, but had no clue as to what Lupus was. I am so grateful after reading her book. It drew me right in. It was so well written and engaging that I could not put it down because I was actually feeling it.The book helps to spread the awareness about this life-threatening, chronic autoimmune disease, and shows how it affects other parts of the body. Now, I feel more empowered to engage in conversations where Lupus is being discussed.Thanks Kayrene for taking such a giant step into the unknown and seeking a cure for Lupus. People who tread on unknown territory seeking a cure have special anointings given to them by God for the benefit of not only themselves, but also for all others suffering from or impacted by Lupus. Thumbs up Kayrene, and way to go! I am so proud of Kayrene as she continues to educate those of us who just don’t understand, but want to, about Lupus and its’ effects!

Kayrene Mimms bravely wrote her first book on Fighting Lupus Battles, detailing her journey as she suffered from symptoms so complicated that Lupus was not diagnosed in earlier years. I read this book to get a general understanding of lupus and it’s manifestations. I knew almost nothing about the disease except that a friend had been diagnosed with it.The book was an excellent guide and very informative. I loaned the book to a neighbor who was a lupus victim and never saw it again so I have to conclude that she found it helpful as well.The book is also a compelling and interesting read.

This book is an excellent reference for lupus patients and their families. It is useful to have to answer specific questions as well as to provide background information. I highly recommended this book, because it’s helpful for patients and their families an abundance of reliable, up-to-date information that will help them manage the disease and live a happier life.As the amazing person, writer and also patient describes it.

Kay is a Lupus awareness ambassador. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to discover more about lupus. You can tell that Kay is very passionate about finding a cure for Lupus and she wants to help whoever who suffers from this horrible illness. This book is a very good read and I recommended it to anyone.

Fascinating insight into the world of Lupus and the impact it has on not only the person with the disease but their family. Kayrene provides different perspectives both personally and from others suffering that allowed a novice like me better understand this crippling disease.
