Works to replace 5" ducts that come with portable AC's.
My usage for this Master Flow 6” x 25’ Insulated Flexible Duct R6 with Silver Jacket is different from any of the reviews I’d read before purchasing.I had to hope it would work or I could make it work. I remember my Dad telling me one time, if you think about it, there's always a way to mickey mouse and repair almost anything. I purchased a previously "opened box" which had the insulation and foil covering separating from the interior flexible tubing. I suspected that's partially because it was previously played around with. I had to dig the interior tubing out. It had slid down about 6 ft. inside the insulation and jacket. However, once we got it taped into place so the insulation, outer silver jacket and inner flexible duct tubing were all together, I was able to get to work on my project. And here’s the rest of the story….My project is two portable air conditioners with flexible tubing that vents to the outside through windows. The plastic flexible tubing that came with the ACs gets very hot-- adding a lot of radiant heat back into the room. For the past couple years, I’ve been wrapping them in doggie &/or human "pee pads". They provided some insulation from all the radiant heat. However, this year I wanted to try to replace the existing ducts and see if I couldn’t find a better means of insulating them. The AC's came with less than 4 ft of duct making it difficult to reach the windows with furniture, or a kitchen counter, between the AC and the window. I was constantly pulling the duct & vent out of the window or off the back of the AC. Bottom line— all that hot exhaust was being blown right back into my home!I was glad to find insulated ducts. However, to fit my AC I needed to replace 5" tubingwith 5" tubing. No such luck. Checking the large chain home improvement stores, they didn't carry 5 ” - 6” and 8” yes, but not 5” — although it does come in that diameter. It would have taken almost 2 weeks to get it special ordered. It wasn’t available in a 5” diameter on Amazon either. Now, it’s another of those hot Pacific NW weeks and I wasn't about to wait two weeks. I get the sun from sunup to sundown and have mostly windows on my condo’s south and west facing external walls. If it's 85 outside, it can be 90-95+ inside by about 6 -7pm when the sun starts shining straight in. So, what to do? Then I found this “open box” 6” diameter on Amazon. I figured somehow I could make it work whether I scrunched the end of the duct tube to make it smaller and fit the 5" AC connector and the vent, or slide it over the ends of both and duct tape it to the exterior. This was only 2 days from date of order to wait and was at a reduced price since it was “Used- like new. Just an open box.” — so I went for it.I found that when I bent and folded over the bent section of wire on the end ring of the interior flex tubing, I could get it inside the 5" connectors at both ends. This wasn't hard to do either. I have arthritis and spinal cord injuries, so I don’t have much strength in my hands but was able bend & fold the wire to fit. The adjusted ring of the tubing provided some tension to hold it in place. Then I duct taped everything to make sure it stayed there. Viola! 6” tubing fits my portable AC’s replacing the 5” tubing. AND...There isn’t all that heat radiating off the AC ducts any more. THIS STUFF REALLY WORKS. The metal coil of the flexible tubing wasn’t too difficult to cut with just the cutter on a pr. of needlenose pliers to get the lengths I wanted and a utility knife cut through everything else. With 25 ft length… if that’s really what I got (I didn’t measure it) there was more than enough for both ACs. You don't want to make the duct too long, it reduces the effectiveness of the AC. You do have to be careful with the fiberglass insulation as it stretches and tears easily. I had no problem with the silver jacket or plastic on the flex tubing. I solved the problem by folding some insulation over and then back onto itself and duct taping it to the flexible tubing. That not only made it fit better, it held it in place over the flex tubing. Right now the sun is beating straight into floor to ceiling windows. The AC unit is working it’s heart out as it’s almost 90 outside but I’m not sitting here dying from the heat. This Insulated Flex Duct works and with a little imagination and tenacity you can make 6” Insulated Flexible Duct fit your5” -5 1/2" connections for portable AC’s, ending the radiant heat and the ducts being too short problem. 4 stars only because the insulation andsilver outer jacket don’t stay with the inner flexible tubing while you’re working with it. Also, you should be aware, the 6” diameter is for the interior flexible duct tubing only; the total outside diameter of the duct is considerably larger due to the R6 insulation wrapped around it.

love this dehumidifier
ok, first off, i use this with another one in a grow room. the humidity in the night with all the plants transpiring can get up to 99%. thats bad mmmmmk..... powdery mildew grows at anything over 40%. i like this one because it pulls out its advertised 70 pints a day, coupled with my existing 50 pint a day my humidity stays at 37%.this one is better than my older ones because the drain hose can be just screwed on and its already pointed downward. my old one you have plastic fittings that you must duct tape on the hose and it sticks out at a right angle to the humidifier, and you must bend the hose in a large half circle.this one is a very good design. quiet, and powerful. i will buy another one or 2 for back ups.

Super insulated
If you are concerned about possible condensation, then this insulated duct should be the one you choose. My electrician wanted to use a much simpler (and cheaper) un-insulated duct for my bathroom fan, but I had to insist on utilizing this one because of the extreme cold in my attic during New England winters. Hope the extra cost will be worth it.

Keeps remote rooms warmer.
Worked as expected, and easy to place. Inner size is larger enough to slide over a 6" duct, excellent.
