DOIT 12-Inch Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw with Laser and LED Work Light

I love this saw. I did have to align the laser but that was a cinch. I have used it to cut oak and performs great. After alignment the laser is dead on accurate every time, even after transporting it around. A great buy and at the price a great saw well worth buying.

Does the job. Definitely not for someone that needs to use this everyday at a job site. Easy to assemble and I ended buying the recommended legs the site gave me when I added it to the cart. For finish type work I ended up having to get a finer tooth blade so that it wouldn't chip the wood after cutting. Easy to replace the blade and the light, laser is very accurate. So far so good.

So I bought this saw for some home projects. It works very well, and is priced right. If I was using this for commercial use (construction or carpenter) I would be inclined to buy a commercial grade saw like a Delta. For my occasional home use (about a dozen times a year), its great and accurate. Its easy to set up and move around. Money well spent for $237. I recommend you find a stand that you can use with it.

I bought this saw because it had decent reviews and seemed a good value, especially when I was looking at $600 DeWalt saws. I did find that it was very under powered. When making angled cuts on 2x10s the motor was very weak and had a hard time getting through the wood. The biggest problem however occurred today a couple weeks after I bought it and hardly used it. It is not balanced well and tends to flip backwards easily. I had it on sawhorses and it flipped and fell 2 feet and broke in half. If you notice the pictures the arm that holds the saw together is incredibly thin and literally snapped in half with a small fall. This never would have happened with a more substantial saw.

I got this saw as I am rebuilding closets in my home. I have to say that right out of the box, this saw is impressive. It is very heavy and sturdy. I've used a sliding 12 in Dewalt, and this saw is right on par with that one. It's loud, but with ear protection, you're good. I wouldn't recommend using without some sort of ear protection as it is very loud (louder than a 10 in table saw). I would say that for the average DYIer, this saw is more than enough. You can't go wrong with this one. I've been using for 3 months now, and it hasn't let me down yet!

Lots of good features but they aren't much good when the saw won't hold square. Cast parts instead of machined parts do not make for an accurate saw. OK for a hobby or weekend warrior but not accurate enough for high end custom work.
