Full 4Kp60 HDR10+ video support The media player supports both 4Kp60 HDR10+ video decoding and 4Kp60 HDR10+ video output. The media player can downscale 4K content to any resolution and upscale any content to 4K resolution. YouTube 4K HDR is supported. AV1 video codec Media Player supports the new AV1 video codec, which can improve video quality by up to 50% without increasing the video bit rate (or require up to 50% less bit rate for the same video quality). This new video codec is already used by YouTube and will become increasingly important for compatibility with various video services and content sources. I just wanted a media player to play 4k videos from usb. i tried/have a couple of other ones incl the Sumvision one. This Dune unit blows them away in terms of functionality and usability.

The YouTube app is not certified for this device so do not buy it if you expect to use it for YouTube. Disappointed as i bought it because I know some YouTube content is starting to use the superior AV1 compression. The title name of this Dune device includes “YouTube 4K”, at the time i am writing this review. That was the deceptive part of this advertisement that i made my purchase decision on. Wow, so much false advertising continues here.

Ce produit tient très bien la route ! Après maintes achats de produits concurrents très instables, j'ai trouvé ce boîtier moins cher (!) et pourtant tout à fait fonctionnel. Il reconnait mon disque dur externe de 2 To, synchronise les fichiers, et est pourvu de fonctionnalités très intéressantes. Je recommande ce lecteur multimédia !
