All in all, superb!
A very good set of knives, great value for money and they feel great to use, good balance and ergonomics. The santoku knife in my set developed a small crack and was replaced without any fuss very quickly. If you are thinking that this might indicate dodgy quality, don't. One of my friends globals cracked too so however much you pay there can be slight flaws.I also recommend the sharpener. All in all, superb!

Honestly these knives make me happy!
I am a trained cook and do all the cooking for my family (although I don't cook professionally any more) and am something of a knife freak. I've had Wusthoffs, Henkels, Sabatiers you name it.But these knives which cost a fraction are without doubt the best knives I've ever owned. They are beautifully balanced and a complete joy to use. The damascus steel is very satisfying to sharpen and so, consequently, I look forward to shredding cabbage, dicing onions, carving chickens (I like the small knife for this as well). In short, when I have one of these knives in my hand and serious amount of veg to prep I'm happy!

WOW....Best Knife set I've owned.
Had the New York set now for about 9 months and can't fault it, and I'm picky! Tried Wusthof and Global but these larger companies products pale in comparison with the Naifu's.OK the damask finish may be just aesthetic but the core steel is sublime at sharpening and keeping an edge, and their sharpener actually works without being too abrasive.Every knife is a gem but my favourites are the sausage knife and the Santoku,a knife for all occasions. My first Santoku and I wonder how I managed fo 50 years. The handles are functionally large enough unlike some other makes and grippy enough to make them safe. They are about mid weight but you dont need a cleaver when the edge is soooo sharp and efficient.Be careful, I've had a couple of knicks when not paying attention.Price point-underpriced for what you get quality wise-but then you gain at the name not being 'global' (ouch!).All in all just about perfect.Buy before they get too well known.

Excellent
I wish we'd bought these years ago. I've always liked the idea of good knives but been unimpressed by the price or the value. I came across reviews of these and bought on the strength of that. They are excellent and very good value for what they deliver. Well balanced and with very comfortable non-slip handles.A clinching bonus is the supplied knife sharpener. This is the conventional two-wheel type but what makes it different is a) a very broad base which makes it easy to hold steady. b) both hardened steel - for damage repair - and ceramic wheels set for the 15 degrees of these blades - European blades and sharpeners are usually 30 degrees. As the instructions say "drawing the blade lightly through the ceramic cylinders...should be all that is necessary Think of the sharpening process as if you are smoothing out the edge of a sheet of paper. There is no need to wear away metal." So it will be easy to keep these in good un-nick (forgive the bad joke). The whole lot comes wrapped in a strong roll which is not likely to be used but makes a good presentation if you are buying as a gift as I was.
