We have hummingbird feeders all over the property, and get many families of the little birds in the summer. While we've fed them for over 10 years, we've only ever found one nest after they leave in the fall. In hopes of getting to see them nesting, I got this to put up in the spring.In the mean time, I told my wife that she can use this little house with one of her bird ornaments to hang on the Christmas tree for now. It comes with a hanging string, a red bow (hummingbirds are attracted to the color red) to tie on the top and a small bag of fiber fill.The listing calls the polyester fiber fill "cotton," however it's not natural fiber cotton at all. A match test clearly showed that cotton burns and polyester fiber melts. I'll discard the artificial cotton and use natural cotton instead in my bird house. All in all, I really like the house and have high hopes we get a nesting pair we can watch.

Nice little nest. The quality is better than I was expecting. Made from a nice wood with an attractive design on the side. I hung it up a couple of weeks ago near the feeder. No hummingbirds have actually desided to use it yet, but it is currently winter, so maybe in the spring.

We’ve got a lot of hummingbirds in our neighborhood and thought what the heck, we’ll give this little hummingbird house a shot and hope a family moves in. The item we received looks exactly as pictured and is very cute. Well made little piece of woodcraft that looks great if even for decoration in the yard. Comes with everything you need to sling this over a stubby branch and a bow to tie on it to boot. Overall very happy with this little birdhouse. Looks about the right size for hummingbirds and we’re hoping to find out! We have hummingbird-attracting flowers planted throughout our garden and thought this little bird house would be a nice addition, a way to encouraged more hummingbirds to hang around more often. It is small but cute, and we look forward to hanging it up in the spring. It is not especially heavy duty but the price is right and it feels like it will last for a couple seasons. I am happy with the purchase.

These are very nice little hummingbird homes! They seem to be nice and sturdy. The size is just fascinating as they are tny! I know , I know.... but still mind boggling that these are little bird houses! Also came with some nesting material! I received these too late in the year to put outside now (NE Oh), so these are definitely going to be the first thing out in early spring! I can't wait to see if the hummingbirds will use the houses!

Let's first talk about hummingbirds. They do not build nests or houses like other birds. Their nests tend to be high up in the trees where they can look down and see what surrounds them. Furthermore, they do not live in a "house" like what you would build. They build nests where there is a fork in the tree, not an actual house.That being said, these are super cute but they are not for hummingbirds. They are for decoration, and they are nicely built. Besides, why would a bird want a little bow on the house? Birds don't care about that stuff.

I was really pleased with these cute birdhouses. They're all wood and seem to be well-sealed against the elements. Each one is a slightly different style but they're all the same height and diameter. The opening is quarter-sized--I took a photo for comparison.Alas, after doing some research, I have learned that hummingbirds are not cavity-nesters and will never use any kind of bird house. They build cup-shaped nests high up in deciduous trees. I will be thinking up some ways that I can turn these cute houses into decorations instead.

These are simply adorable! And I love that they're solid wood rather than plastic. And they come with plenty of padding for the birds to use! There doesn't seem to be a varnish on them, which I prefer for the birds' health, but that of course may shorten the houses' lifespans. I picked them up in the fall, so I won't get a chance to see if my hummingbirds move in until the spring. Even if the hummingbirds don't use them, they look cute enough as decorations outside.
