Not musky at all. First bought it in 1995 at a men's store in Houston. Could not find it at Macy's, Dillard's, Neiman Marcus, Saks - literally no where else. Still really like it. Glad to see that Amazon is now selling it since it was always hard to find. I have tried tons of other colognes, and this is hands down the best - at least for me. But, colognes are a personal taste thing. However, a new cologne is coming out by Michael Christopher Ltd. called Mardi Gras. When I ordered the Lenel, the company sent a sample, and the Mardi Gras is my new favorite.
