Karederi Parchment skin parchment vellum goat skin handmade (8x12 inches)

I ordered parchment and that's exactly what I got. Unfortunately the parchment came rolled in a tube and got stuck like a crispy strumpwaffle in that shape and I'm unsure how to flatten it out. I've reached out to ectoria and am waiting for a reply. The color and texture is great, and the overall look is adequate. It is as promised, a sheet of parchment. They also through in a smaller piece for free. Thanks guys! But in all seriousness how do I turn my curled up crisp into a flat sheet? It seems Brittle and I don't want to ruin it.

Nice real parchment, unfortunately it was rolled in a tube, I managed to pull it out and set it flat below some heavy books so they can straighten out. Let's see what happens in a few days.

This is the first time I’ve attempted to write on vellum so my review may be to my lack of experience. The vellum I received was very oily and waxy.. left a residue of oil of my fingers. I tried to write on it with fountain pen ink of various sorts, sharpie permanent marker, and a regular rollerball plastic pen. The rollerball took to it the best but it was still so light it was barely legible. I thought to give it another month to dry out on my dining room table.. I separated each piece and let it sit for about 6 weeks..but it didn’t help.. I then scraped both sides with a scotch bright pad to make it more chalky and that did the trick! It still doesn’t look great but at least it’s darker!
