Tried one this morning to see how they work. They look like they just have some absorbent pads on the inside of them. It was not able to handle the amount of pee i put in it which i don't think was a lot, wasnt even half way up the bag. I let it sit for a few minutes and even sloshed it around to try and mix it up and see if that helped what is inside of the bag turn into gel and it was still mostly liquid after about 5 minutes. I could see inside how some of it gelled up but it could not handle much. Bought this for a camping trip but I don't think i will bother bringing them with me after this. Not going to have any of these that are still filled with liquid sitting around any wear even with the small thin garbage bag that comes with it. Does nothing for the smell either.

Will work for the intended purpose. The product I received does not have enough absorbant to work as well as the branded other original product (yellow packaging with the name travel john). I ordered this since the one that works better was not available. I will not order this product again. This product does not absorb all the fluid and can leak as you try to put it into a separate included plastic bag.

I tried these as a porta potty when driving and the whole diaper powder doesn't really do much with an adults amount of urine. I even did some tests and it only turns 30% of the liquid into a gel... after 20 minutes. Maybe I'm using it improperly, but there's no instructions. The plastic has proven to be sturdy and strong, so it does a good enough job to act as a transport, but the diaper powder part is pretty useless. I do like the softness of the top.

I bought these to use in our travel trailer so we don't have to empty the black tank as often! They actually work pretty well as far as the gel inside goes, but they are a little hard to hold securely next to your body bc the top part isn't real stiff. All-in-all, though, I really do like them. I'd recommend them.

We have 3 boys. These are a must for us. They always have to pee when there aren't any restrooms around. No need to worry about spills. We had a resusable plastic urinal we used before finding these and it would always tilt or turn over in the car causing it to leak. The urine solidifies when it enters the bag. The only negative is that they are a bit pricey.

In law fell and broke his leg. These have been a God send for use at night. He can throw the bag in the trash can next to him and no pissy odor smell. Glad no urine bottle waiting for someone to come empty

These are just ok even if you're in desperate need. We went camping for a week with 3 little boys, I bought these for the purpose of overnight use. I didn't want to have to trudge through a dark camp ground with a sleepy child to try to make it to the bathroom. That said, the bags I received did not turn to gel or absorb at all. Even after sitting hours they still had obvious liquid in them.I wish there was a way to close the bag, an adhesive strip or anything is better than the mouth of the bag gaping open.It would have been better and cheaper to just buy small cheap trash bags and put a discount brand diaper in it to use the same way. That way, you know they will actually absorb.

So these are great for traveling needs and easy to use. Pay attention to the amount of fluid it holds. It is possible to overfill the bag and it makes it more cumbersome to dispose of with out the mess. Otherwise would certainly recommend if you need a disposable urinal option.

Disposable urinal bads work great.
